A major portion of this week’s reading is a dream sequence by Bromden. The general consensus was
that dreams are ways for a person to deal with traumatic or important issues emotionally. For this
essay, use the internet to research the possible meanings of Bromden’s dream. DO NOT RESEARCH THE
LITERARY MEANING OF THE DREAM. The assignment is not to interpret the story, but to interpret
Bromden’s dream, and what it may tell us about him.

Choose 5 elements of Bromden’s dream, and interpret them, based off your research and personal
insight. You must completely explain why you interpret each element of the dream the way you do,
using research to justify your interpretations.

Remember the scope of the assignment, and the rules against plagiarism; this is an academic exercise,
designed to challenge your thinking and communication abilities. Take pride in your intelligence, and
your abiliy to express yourself. Good luck.
