AMAZING GRACE IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
That saved a wretch like me! When sorrows like sea billows roll;
I once was lost, but now am found; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
Was blind, but now I see. It is well, it is well with my soul.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, Refrain:

And grace my fears relieved; It is well with my soul,
How precious did that grace appear It is well, it is well with my soul.
The hour I first believed.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Through many dangers, toils, and snares, Let this blest assurance control,
I have already come; That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
And grace will lead me home.
Refrain:
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, It is well with my soul,
And mortal life shall cease, It is well, it is well with my soul.
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace. My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!—
My sin, not in part but the whole,
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Bright shining as the sun, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun. Refrain:
It is well with my soul,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Refrain:
It is well with my soul,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
