The Dominant 7 Sus4 Chords

Structure:

The dominant 7 sus4 chord is a dominant chord which 3rd has been
omitted and substituted with the 4th of the chord, offering that
“suspended” feeling.

When a suspension is being used, we should AVOID the use of the third and use
instead the upper extensions (9th, 13th). When we use this particular structure the
feeling of resolution that a dominant chord has get delayed because the chord is less
stable; therefore, it is unexpected to the audience.

Applications:
Use the Dom7 Sus4 and resolve it to the dominant chord, but with altered extensions.
