Please answer the question below:

1. Regarding to the picture, please describe the basic physiological mechanisms of

ventilation, circulation and oxygenation.

2. Blood in pulmonary capillaries == Darah di kapiler pulmonal

3. Blood flow== aliran darah

4. Blood in sistemic capillaries == Darah di kapiler sistemik

5. Internal respiration ( gas exchange between tissue cells and blood in systemic
capillaries) == Pernapasan internal (pertukaran gas antara sel jaringan dan darah
dalam kapiler sistemik)

6. Air blown out == Udara ditiup keluar

7. Air sucked in== Udara tersedot masuk

8. Tissue cells == Sel jaringan

9. shift to left hypothermia and alkalosis == Bergeser ke hipotermia kiri dan alkalosis

10. shift to right hyperthermia and acidosis== Bergeser ke hipertermia kanan dan
asidosis

11. oxygen tension == Ketegangan oksigen

12. hemoglobin saturation == Kejenuhan hemoglobin

13. gas exchange occurs in capillary beds of lungs == Pertukaran gas terjadi di tempat
tidur kapiler paru-paru

14. pulmonary circuit == Sirkuit paru

15. pulmonary veins == Vena pulmonal

16. aorta and branches== Aorta dan cabang

17. left atrium == atrium kiri

18. left ventricie -= ventrikel kiri

19. pulmonary arterios == arteri pulmonal

20. cava== cava

21. right atrium== atrium kanan

22. right ventricie == ventrikel kanan

23. systemic circuit== sirkuit sistemik

24. oxygen rich co2 poor blood== Darah kaya oksigen kaya darah

25. oxygen poor co2 rich blood== Oksigen kekurangan darah kaya darah

28. When oxygen delivery is inadequate to meet the metabolic needs of the body, various
responses to this deficit can be expected, including changes in metabolic pathways
and efforts to increase the extraction of available oxygen. If these efforts fail, cells will
be damaged and ultimately die. Please describe it! (references)

29.   Develop a set of nursing strategies to promote adequate respiratory functioning in

the following patients.

a. A patient with lung cancer presents with blood in his sputum.

b. A child with cystic fibrosis is having difficulty breathing.
c. A young woman with asthma develops pneumonia.

d. A 48yearold man who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day presents with

emphysema.

What is it that makes the strategies you selected appropriate/effective?

Please make nurse care plan according to the case below!

30. Mrs. Johnson is a 72yearold woman hospitalized for left lower lobe pneumonia.

She complains of a persistent cough and occasional pain in her left chest associated

with coughing, fever, and shortness of breath. Prior to this admission, she has been

healthy   and   independent.   Upon   assessment,   you   find   her   mildly   dyspneic,

occasionally pausing in the middle of a sentence to breathe. Her respiratory rate is

28 breaths per minute. Her pulse is 100 per minute and regular; blood pressure is

140/90 mm Hg. Her skin is warm, dry, and pale pink with brisk capillary refill. You

do not note any edema. She is receiving oxygen by nasal cannula at 6 L/min.

31. Joan McIntyre, age 72, is in the medical intensive care unit, diagnosed with severe

COPD.  Unable  to breathe  on her own,  she has a  tracheostomy and is receiving

mechanical ventilation. Efforts are being made to wean her from the ventilator, but

she has been unable to breathe on her own for any length of time. She has written

notes asking the staff to “let me go” the next time she fails to be weaned. Her only

daughter  is   by her  side   and asks   that all  measures  to  save  her  mother’s   life  be

initiated.
