 Recognize different expressions of asking for and giving advice;
 Use the target structure by providing dialogues in the production stage.

5 mint Warm-up
-T greets SS.
- T: Welcome to my class. Greeting
-T writes the date on the BB.
25 Presentation:
mint - T writes a dialogue on the BB and asks SS to read it and get its main idea. Setting the
Dialogue scene
Sarah: What’s the problem?
Amal: I don’t know what to do. I have a severe headache. What do you think I should do?
Sarah: Well…if you need my advice, I suggest you take an Aspirin and rest. Dialogue
-T asks SS to look at the dialogue again and answer the following questions:
-T: What is Sarah asking about?
-SS: Asking about the state of Amal.
-T: Good, how do you know? Which expression does she use?
-SS: “What’s the problem?”
-T: What is Amal’s response?
-SS: “…What do you think I should do?”
-T So, what is she asking for? Q/A
-SS: Asking for help/advice.
-T: Good. And what does Sarah advise Amal to do? Which expression….?
-SS: “If you need my advice, I suggest you…….”
-T draws a chart on the BB.

-T: What do you think? => SS: B needs to give a piece of advice, not say “thank you”.
-T: Good. So what can you advise B? => SS: “B” should see a dentist and rest.
8 mint Practice: Completion
-T asks SS to complete the dialogue on page 69, act. 3. drills
22 Production:
mint -T provides situations and asks SS to use expressions of asking about health, for advice and giving advice,
according to the given situation.
Situation 1: A cough. Situation 2: Your friend is getting thin. Situation 3: Your brother is getting fatter &
fatter. Situation 4: Your friend suffers from insomnia (cant’ sleep at night) Situation 5: Your father has Cue cards
poor appetite. Situation 6: Your sister has toothache. Situation 7: A sore throat. Situation 8: A headache.
Situation 9: Flu. Situation 10: Stomach-ache.
-SS come to the BB and present their dialogues. -T asks SS to copy the lesson.
