Abstract:
The heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system is arguably the most complex system
installed in a building and is responsible for a substantial component of the total building energy use. A
right- sized HVAC system will provide the desired comfort and will run efficiently. Right-sizing of an
HVAC system is the selection of equipment and the design of the air distribution system to meet the
accurate predicted heating and cooling loads of the house. Right-sizing the HVAC system begins with an
accurate understanding of the heating and cooling loads on a space; however, a full HVAC design
involves more than just the load estimate calculation; the load calculation is the first step of the iterative
HVAC design procedure. This synopsis is about designing, drafting and model prototyping of HVAC
system for our department and then matching the results with the journals (published by Indian
scientist) And also with the software application

Introduction
Many of the situations requiring mechanical ventilation also need a degree of air conditioning. To
summarize, those situations most likely to require air conditioning are:

1. Rooms subject to high solar gains, such as south facing rooms especially those with large areas of
glazing.
2. Rooms with high equipment densities such as computer rooms and offices which make extensive
use of IT (Cad cam lab).
3. Rooms in which environment (temperature, dust or humidity) sensitive work is being carried out.
4. Ventilation for washrooms.

Problem formulation/Objectives:
A good ventilation system helps to reduce the number of pollutants, bacteria and odor in a
facility. Data analytics of HVAC systems helps in regulating the temperature of a building
and lowering humidity by ensuring that moisture in a building is kept under control
Therefore providing better hvac system may help to enhance the building services and its
environment infrastructure by Identify code requirements regarding sizing, design, and selection of
HVAC equipment and ducts
Methodology/ Planning of work:
Our whole plan is divided in 6 parts and is being responsibly attained by group members

PART 1: (is to be done by all 4 members)

Building Survey:

1. Orientation of the Building

2. Application of the Space
3. Physical dimensions of the space
4. Ceiling height, floor to floor height, space above the false ceiling.

PART 2: (is to be done by member 2 and 4)

Heat Load Estimate:

The manner in which heat can flow can be any one or more for the following ways:
1. Solar radiation through transparent surfaces such as window.
2. Heat conduction through exterior wall/roof
3. Heat conduction through partitions, ceilings, floors of adjacent non-air conditioned spaces.
4. Heat generated internally by occupants, lights, appliances, equipment’s and process
5. Load due to intake of outside air for ventilation.
6. Other miscellaneous gains.
PART 3: (is to be done by member 1 and 2)
System equipment analysis, selection and designing:

# Air Handling Unit (AHU) and fan coil unit (FCU)

Components of Air Handling Units or Fan Coil Units
As the name suggests air handling unit is the box type of unit that handles the room air. This article
describes various parts of the air handling unit, its working and types.
1.Box Enclosure (material)
2.Cooling Coil
3.Ducts
4.Fan or Blower
5.Air Filter
6.Fan sizing for washroom

PART 4: (is to be done by member 3 and 4)

Analysis and selection for whole air conditioning cycle (equipment’s):

the air conditioning system works similar to that of simple air conditioning cycle and consist of same
component i.e.

1. Compressor
2. Cooling tower (not necessary depending on heat load calculation)
3. Condenser
4. Expansion tank

Selection and analysis of all these component leads to develop the whole system.

PART 5: drafting (is to be done by member 1)

PART 6: modelling (is to be done by member 2 ,3 and 4)
Conclusion:
Our designs have a direct impact on the people who occupy our college mechanical department. We will
continue to discover ways to assure their comfort and health, while reducing our impact on the
environment and natural resources. Changes will occur and for the better. Our vision for our industry
can be fulfilled as we take action through our contributions to the technology of HVAC.

Estimated time and cost:

We have assumed that our work will take 1 to 2 months for its completion as per our plan.
COST: not yet estimated.
