NON-CATHOLIC CHURCH PROFILE
The Born Again Sanctuary of Praise Inc. is located at #16 Road 2, Tunhai Village, Booy
Tagbilaran City. Pastor Ruel C. Alcain stated that there are 70-80 members included children.
There are 10 leaders, and 10 primary leaders. The church was existed 7 years ago, and it was
started by the family. Their organization has 5 major roles to be played, the most important or
the highest is the Bishop, followed by Administrator, then Organization Secretary followed by
the Treasurer and lastly, the Local Pastor or the Wife. The logo/flag/mark is frequently seen on
born again churches is a Dove which symbolizes the Holy Spirit, a book which is the Bible and
the Cross which symbolizes the part as Christians. There is also an image of an egg shell which
symbolizes are need to be reborn as human beings.
They celebrate their prayer, praise, or worship every Wednesday, Saturday dawn and
Sunday. On Wednesday they praise or worship once, on Saturday dawn they also praise or
worship once, and on Sunday they praise at 4 times. In prayers there always has to be praise
and worship included. There are multiple things they consider sacred in their church, like Bible,
Communion, Sunday and all the things inside the church. In their church their church baptism is
consider a platform in receiving Jesus, making you one of his disciples when you say yes for
baptism. There are 3 programs that they conduct, namely: Evangelism/Winning/Consolidation,
Discipleship, Scholarship Program and Helping the needy.
As I observed there are a lot of things that are very similar to us, Roman Catholic. Born
Again is also a Christian because they are bible-believing churches. And the people who attend
might called themselves as born again believers, and that term comes from the following
passage of the Bible. And I also learned that most Born Again Christians and the Roman Catholic
have beliefs in common, just like teaching’s God Inspired Word, presenting the one true God
sharing and spreading the Gospel and worshipping together. And also I learned that Born Again
Christianity would be the religion of true believers, a union of all members across all
denominators who are trusting Jesus alone for their justification. This interview really helps me
to understand more about other religion, and this interview answered all my questions that I
can’t even ask to my friend which is also a member of Born Again.
This really help me to clear my mind that we have the same God, and even their practice
and traditions are also similar to us just like baptism, communion and worship days. We are all
one in the eyes of God, even if we are Roman Catholic or Born Again, we must individually
receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We can receive Christ right now by faith through
prayer, which also done by the Born Again and the Roman Catholic. No one is different we are
all equal because God created us even in the religion or even in the teachings of the church are
also likely the same, and also the Bible itself is the one overriding key to know and understand
God, which also used by the two religion.
