replacement article that follows. The effectivity has been changed.

The design of the center pin of the equalizer bar was changed in order to allow the use of the 251-9906
Bearing in the front bore of the equalizer bar saddle. The change was made in order to improve the
serviceability of the pin joint. However, there has been an issue with movement of the bearing out of the
bore. The change to the pin and bearing was made on the D10T. The new pin and new bearing replace
the former 8P-9382 Pin. If your machine has the new 251-9906 Bearing then you need to inspect the
center pin of the equalizer bar. The inspection ensures that the bearing is in the proper position.

In order to improve the bearing retention, the following interim procedure should be completed on any
tractor that has the 251-9906 Bearing. The new system is a temporary solution and a new center pin will
soon be available.

(2) Install as many washers as required on the head end of the bolt. This will provide clearance
between the end of the bolt and the oil pan of the engine.

(7) Use a piece of pipe that has an inside diameter of 102 mm (4.0 inch) and a wall thickness of 6.0 mm
(0.25 inch) to 19 mm (0.75 inch). Cut the pipe to dimension (A).

(6) Weld the pipe (7) to washer (8). Grind pipe (6) in order to provide a tight fit between the pipe and
pin (11) with a minimum clearance (B) between the pipe and the bearing (10).

(9) Apply 155-0695 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the nut prior to assembly.

The bottom guard that is just forward of the equalizer bar saddle will need to be notched in order to
provide clearance for the new parts. Refer to Illustration 2 for the location and the dimensions of the
notch.

Dimension (C) is 675 mm (26.6 inch).

Dimension (D) is a 25 mm (1.0 inch) radius. Dimension (D) is used in two places.

Dimension (E) is a 50 mm (2.0 inch) radius.

Dimension (F) is 25 mm (1.0 inch).
