Official Response To the Government of Cameroun Invitation To Mark

Bareta, Ambazonia Activist

From: Mark Bareta, BARA, Ambazonia Activist

To: The Government of Paul Biya, Republic of Cameroun
Through: Mr. Dion Ngute, Prime Minister, Head of Government, Republic of
Cameroun

Date: September 26th, 2019

Sir,
I write in response to the official invitation sent to me by email on 25th
September 2019 in regards to the Cameroun National Dialogue in the Former
British Southern Cameroons aka Ambazonia, what Cameroun has falsely called
as North West and South West Regions
I took prior notification that in disregards to normal standards, no discussions
have been held between your government and my humble self in lure to attend
such a dialogue that should guarantee fairness and security, thus, the invitation
came as a big surprise.
First and foremost I will like to extend my appreciation to the Prime minister of
our neighbouring country and my regards to the President of CAMEROUN for
attempting to end the war he declared on our people though it is being done in
a callous and cantankerous way, completely different from historical
precedence in conflicts resolutions.
I will like to reiterate that in my personal capacity as Mark Bareta, the editor in
chief of the leading Ambazonia press as well as a Pro Independence activist,

resolving this conflict in the most amicable and truthful way is what every
Ambazonian and the International Community intends to see. Only a genuine
negotiation can return normalcy to both countries which will stop the pain to
our respective citizens.
As such, a negotiated settlement is what every Ambazonian is ready to pursue
at all times. I will get myself involve in all pacific means to make this a reality,
but will not fail to exercise the right to self defence in a bid to spare my people
from this 21st century genocide.
Mr Prime minister, it is regrettable that all pacific efforts by the people of
Southern Cameroons to resolve this unpleasant situation was brutally cracked
down by your inhumane soldiers. Your government preferred to silence the
Ambazonian people with the barrel of a gun, while buying time through the
creation of many disingenuous commissions which they themselves never
believed in, including the one I am responding to.
It is obvious this will also end in a fiasco as it falls short of any conventional
procedure in conflict resolutions. Justice and truth has been sidelined in favour
of gamesmanship, projections and delaying tactics while hoping that, our people
surrendered to impunity and barbarism from the brutal hands of your forces.
We must also bear in mind that, posterity shall hold us all accountable for the
respective roles we played in either solving or pretending to resolve this issue
which has affected the entire gulf of Guinea.
Our struggle to restore the Former British Southern Cameroons is historically
and legally founded and can be fact check. No treaty of union exists between
both nations.
The Bible says in John 8:32 “then you shall know the truth and the truth shall set
us free”. I sincerely applaud your efforts and I am happy that your President
who once called us terrorists has come to the realization that arms and weapons

of war can never be a successful tactic to defeat a people in their own backyard.
That we must all sit on the table to talk thus sparing loss of lives.
All pro-independence activists including Mark Bareta , Consortium leaders, the
Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC) amongst others were declared
terrorists by your government. Our leaders who were kidnapped were jailed on
charges of terrorism. I doubt which human in his or her right senses will trust
an invitation from the same oppressor who is still killing and maiming as I write.
Christian Cardinal Tumi recently submitted to your office a 400-page
documentation, one which sees a survey ran by him scoring 69 percent of our
people declaring for absolute separation despite the option not appearing in his
survey. The desire for external self-determination of our people is bonded in
their blood, bones and soul. Even Cardinal Tumi, a staunch federalist
unequivocally saw “69 percent of our people want outright separation. This
shows you that the unfortunate years of illegally living together has been a
horrible experience as one of the world’s first democracy has watched with pity
and helplessness as its institutions and freedoms have been coerced, pushed
and destroyed
Let me also emphatically state here that Ambazonians have been the only party
calling for dialogue for more than a year now. Before the abduction of our
Revolutionary leader AyukTabe Julius, he has on several occasions called for
dialogue and stated how it should be done. After his abductions, every other
leader has done so. We are and have never been against dialogue or
negotiations. The pain we feel for our people, the massacre we see daily from
your occupational Forces are things which drives us to sit on the table to end the
war but we will never do so on a cosmetic show dubbed national dialogue . We
shall go for a genuine negotiation void of supremacy with the presence of a
neutral third party in a neutral land.

3
Truth and justice can only emanate through a thorough examination of the
events of 1961 which purportedly brought us together. This is the root cause
and your government must not shy away from this.
Mr Prime Minister, I will crave your indulgence to talk to your President that,
the only way genuine negotiations can take place, is on a neutral ground,
whereby the freedom of expression and political aspirations of the participants
will not be bullied or killed to submission.
We must learn from history how armed struggled are being settled. Any short
term measures shall culminate in a fiasco. The current configuration of the so-
called National Dialogue and the content of debate is a mockery to the world
and to the many souls your forces have murdered.
Therefore, we can conclude without any fear of contradiction that this will be an
effort in futility like your other prior commissions of Bilingualism,
multiculturalism and decentralization committees. In fact, time will vindicate me
that nothing good can come out of Yaoundé.
Mr. Prime Minister, your government abducted our leader Sisiku AyukTabe
Julius and team from Nigeria and subjected them to all forms of human rights
abuse and trauma. You have the real people to talk with right under your
nostrils.
Mr. Prime Minister, your President should release all Ambazonia Prisoners of
War. Why should I, Mark Bareta have a seat at the table, meanwhile Pa Ngala
Nfor is behind bars? Why should I when Penn Terence, Tsi Conrad, Geo Tang,
Ndiba Williams and all our heroes are languishing in your jails?
It is thanks to their selflessness that our people have regained their voice. Why
should I be at the table while Sisiku AyukTabe Julius, our revered leader, Deacon
Tassang Wilfred who is a symbol of our education system, professors & learned
barristers are behind bars and barred from participating?

4
Mr Prime minister, how is it possible for us to be discussing about the fate of our
people who had risen and picked up arms to defend their wives, daughters from
rape, summary executions as highlighted by USA Ambassador to Cameroun HE
Ambassador Bellerin on our people while the primary actors are all in your
crowded and inhumane dungeons and not given a seat at the table.
Mr. Prime Minister, you cannot be organising dialogue when French Cameroun
troops are actively killing our people and the rate has increased since September
10th when Mr. Biya made the famous speech. Mr. Prime Minister should be
telling his boss to call for a cease fire and withdrawing French Cameroun troops
from our community. This is the right thing to do and this will pave the way for
genuine negotiations.
Mr. Prime Minister, we aware that your government doesn’t want us at a
negotiating table since our political aspirations of a free homeland are
diametrically opposed to their efforts of continuously enslaving us. Scheming at
placating the intentional community is your stock in trade to show that you have
reached out to us just for the record instead of trying resolving this issue from
the root cause .The impression is that, we hate dialogue. Mr. Prime Minister, we
are ready for negotiations. Let’s convene at a neutral ground with international
mediation and try to resolve this conflict which is causing loss of lives from both
countries.
Unfortunately you being a party to the conflict want to be the sole judge and
jury to the game, making the entire integrity of the your national dialogue
compromised because you are coming to equity with soiled hands.
Therefore, our luggage are ready and let’s invite the neutral international
players especially the United Nations since this conflict is of their making as
Resolution 1514 of an unconditional independence of all UN trust territories was
botched leading to the current conflagration, that is if at all you really intend
solving this problem and ending this war.

5
Despite the short notice of your invitation, I am ready to abandon anything and
take the next flight to sit and talk should our leaders and people be released, a
neutral venue named, third party mediation guaranteed, ceasefire declared &
buffer zone created. Mr. Prime Minister, can these be done?
Away from that Sir, Mr. Prime Minister must also know that there is no trust and
confidence in their national dialogue. Just see how it is done. Francophones and
CPDM stooges flooding the area; coming to teach us Ambazonians on how to be
nationalistic or patriotic. How many members of the other eight regions of
Cameroun have been killed or their houses burnt like it has been done to the
peoples of the Southern Cameroons? Given them equal representation in
solving an issue that is none of their business is really insulting. While the agenda
of your national dialogue has already being defined and the Ambazonia War of
Independence/Statehood Restoration not even a topic of discussion given that
your president has barred external self-determination of the people of Southern
Cameroons aka Ambazonia. What else will I even sit to talk at your national
dialogue? Should I sit to talk decentralisation, bilingualism cultural
diversity/multiculturalism, education or justice? Is this really what the war is all
about, Sir? This is sheer insult and provocation.
Mr Prime minister, given the above objections and concerns, it is therefore
imperative the presence of third party enforcers/mediators is of prime necessity
for justice to be respected and seen to be done. For example, the UN, AU, USA,
Norway, Germany, Ghana and other strategic world stakeholders attracting
credibility from both camps must be present to ensure that peace, a transitional
authority over the war zone and down the line friendly neighbourliness is
returned as per our individual territorial integrity.
As a result of all these Mr. Prime Minister, I want to honour your invitation but
you will agree with me that after reading this truths herein stated, you will come
to the conclusion with me that I cannot in all good faith honour your invitation
because there have been no conducive preconditions to make these

6
negotiations to take place as truthful as possible. The Southern Cameroons
people are already building themselves and are ready to sit down and talk on
truths and facts. When Cameroun is ready to face its ugly past and her
annexation of our territory, Ambazonians shall be there with both Team
Ambazonia vs. Team Cameroun talking after both sides have agreed on
preconditions.
For now sir, I should officially for the first time inform you that I am and we are
going to continue to exercise our rights to self-defence by making sure that we
get the necessary materials to help defend the territorial integrity of the Former
British Southern Cameroons aka Ambazonia because this is what every people
who have been subjected to modern day African neo-colonialism, genocide,
annexation will do.
On a lighter note, we are hoping to welcome you home in a free Ambazonia,
whereby accountability, democracy and free market principles will be respected
and not called “Biafra, Anglofou or Baminda" or all other demeaning
appellations we have endured for 57 years, subjugated to a fifth position with
regards to the hierarchy of your country, in which by the purported pseudo-
union, ought to be the second in the chain of command.

God Bless You

God Bless Ambazonia
