GENDER INEQUALITY

(Workplace)

Introduction
Women make the world go around. From giving birth to raising a
child, providing financial stability, preparing healthy home-cooked meals,
women are still treated as less than in the work-force. Men and women
experience differences in the work place. According to the site I’ve searched,
women perceived that individual work should be collaborative where
everyone works as part of a whole. Men, on the other hand, perceive that
work should be completed independently without the assistance of others.
Women also tend to be more supportive managers, whereas men are more
direct. Misunderstanding between genders often cause conflict within the
work place. Men and women deliver information differently which could lead
to feelings of exclusion or allegations. Gender differences in the work place
typically stem from social factors, which influence the behaviors of men and
women.

Effects of the case to women

 An obstacle that many women face in the workforce is sexual

harassment. Because there are some male group within the
company that forcing a female to be harassed.
 Despite being more educated than men and constituting nearly
half of the workforce, women are promoted at work far less than
men. Because there are some manager’s perception that women
can’t handle bigger responsibilities that cause discrimination
about their capability as an employee.
 Make work life/life balance a priority for your employees. One of
the significant hurdles that currently prevent women from
reaching the top of their career is the lack of available childcare
support. Because no one is available to take care of their child
when they have work.

Recommendations to stop this case

 Eliminate Gender-Based Roles. Take a look at your organizations

values not on the physical appearance and gender of the
employees.
 Promote gender awareness. There are work fields of work that
only women can do, that women can do better than men.
 Stop discriminating the skills of women. They are more flexible
than men which leads them to multi-task different kind of
works, its either within the workplace or into their home.
 Dress properly. Women must follow the dress code of the
company to be respected and to be good-looking in the eye of
the people.
 Someone must be a role model. Every woman has a role model
which they looked up to every time they feel down. So someone
must stand up for those discriminated woman to uplift the
power or confidence of every individual lady.
