It was a quiet, cold and dark night, like it usually is in winters when all retire to bed early. Suddenly, a shriek jerked
the people in the building out of their beds. It was distinctly the voice of someone who was in deep pain. I at once
got up and looked down the window of my room. A lot of people had gathered in the street below. I ran down the
building to know what had happened. A man had been run over by a speeding car and the driver had run away with
his car. Both the legs Of the man had been broken and he was bleeding badly. I had my mobile With me and rang
up the police and also the Civil Hospital for ambulance. The man was taken to the hospital and a case of 'hit and
run' was registered with the police.

a restaurant. There was a pet shop nearby. The man suggested that they should visit the shop after their dinner.
The Wife readily agreed. There they saw a lovely plump cat for sale. They liked it so much that they bought it at
once and brought it home with them. The husband and wife became very fond of their pet cat. They would always
keep it with them and caress it fondly. One day, the cat gave birth to a number of kittens. The husband and wife
were very happy. They often played with the little kittens.

Amit is very fond of flying kites. One day, he was standing on one of the walls of his house and flying a kite. His kite
went quite high in the sky. He was looking at it and feeling very happy. He forgot that he was standing on a wall.
And when he tried to move a little to his left, he lost his balance and fell Off the wall. Luckily, he didn't fall to the
side of the street. Only God knows what would have happened then He fell to the side of the roof, and broke both
his right arm and right leg. It was three weeks ago, and he is still in plaster.

It was a night in the middle of June. It was terribly hot. The air was still. To make it worse, there was

no electricity. After the day's hard work, I was feeling very tired. I wanted to lie down and sleep. But

sleep was simply impossible in such a sultry weather. I lay down on my bed three or four times. I

tried to fan myself with a piece Of cardboard. But it gave me no relief. And then there were those

big mosquitoes. They bit me all over my face, hands and feet. I would jump out of my bed and

move restlessly. It continued all through the night. I could hardly have a wink of sleep.
