Section 1: Prepare

The R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.13 Release Update Pack must be applied only to an existing Oracle E-
Business Suite Release 12.2.3 or higher environment.

Section 2: Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.4) or Higher

Because Error Correction Support has ended for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.3),
customers currently on that database version should now upgrade to Oracle Database 11g
Release 2 (11.2.0.4) or Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.2) before proceeding with the
next steps.

I think in our case database version is 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.3), ?????????

Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 Patching Technology Components Guide (Doc ID 1355068.1)

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 utilizes multiple technology components. Each component has
its own Oracle Home, which can be patched individually. This article briefly describes the technology
patching tools and how they are used with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.

Patching Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Technology Components

Oracle Homes

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 uses the following Oracle Homes:

 Oracle Fusion Middleware

o Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS) 10.3.6
o OHS (WebTier) 11.1.1 and Oracle Common (Common Modules)
 Application Server (OracleAS)
o Forms and Reports 10.1.2
 Oracle Database
o Oracle Database Server 11.2 or 12.0
Application EBS Technology Patching Cycle: Fusion Middleware

Application tier technology patches are applied to the patch file system using a native
patching tool such as OPatch or SmartUpdate, and the changes are then propagated to the run
file system as part of an Online Patching cycle. A consolidated list of Oracle E-Business
Suite Release 12.2 technology patches is available in My Oracle Support
Knowledge Document 1594274.1.

The following is an overview of the process to follow when applying a technology patch
within Oracle E-Business Suite**.

1. Download any required technology patches and unzip them into

the $NE_BASE/EBSapps/patch directory.

2. Prepare the system for patching:

$ source <EBS_ROOT>/EBSapps.env3 run

$ adop phase=prepare

3. Prepare to apply technology patches to the Oracle Home on the patch file system:

$ source <EBS_ROOT>/EBSapps.env3 patch

Refer to Table 1 below for details about applying technology patches application on
the application tier.

4. Optionally, apply any Oracle E-Business Suite patches planned for this patching
cycle:

$ adop phase=apply patches=<patch_list>

5. After all patches have been successfully applied, complete the patching cycle:

$ adop phase=finalize
$ adop phase=cutover
$ source <EBS_ROOT>EBSapps.env3 run
$ adop phase=cleanup

6. Synchronize the technology level between patch and run file systems:

$ adop phase=fs_clone

Section 4: Apply the Latest AD and TXK Delta Release Update Packs

pply the latest Release Update Packs for AD and TXK for Release 12.2 as described in My Oracle
Support Knowledge Document 1617461.1

Section 6: Apply the R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.13 Release Update Pack

Having applied the latest available AD and TXK Release Update Pack (RUP) for Oracle E-
Business Suite Release 12.2 as mentioned in the above step, you can now proceed to apply
the R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.13 Release Update Pack.
 1. Source the run edition applications environment.

UNIX

$ . <EBS_ROOT>/EBSapps.env run

2. Start an online patching cycle.

$ adop phase=prepare

3. Application Tier Technology Patches

4. Apply R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.13 Release Update Pack Patch 28862999.

UNIX

$ adop phase=apply patches=28862999

5. Apply the online help patch for R12.HR_PF.C.Delta.13 (Patch 29185469).

UNIX

$ adop phase=apply patches=29185469

Complete the online patching cycle by running the following commands in the order shown.

UNIX

$ . <EBS_ROOT>/EBSapps.env run
$ adop phase=finalize
$ adop phase=cutover
$ . <EBS_ROOT>/EBSapps.env run
$ adop phase=cleanup

Synchronize file systems

Synchronize the file systems using the command shown below. This action copies the new
run edition code and configuration to the other file system, to help the next online patching
cycle complete faster.

$ adop phase=fs_clone
