A Quarrel with My Sister

This morning, I had a quarrel with my younger sister. She wanted to watch a cartoon film on the TV
while I wanted to see my favourite serial 'CID'. When she tried to snatch the remote from me, I
pushed her back and she fell down. She began to cry and left the room. I continued watching my
favourite serial and forgot all about her. But now I feel repentant over all that. It was really bad on
my part to have done all that.
She is younger to me and I should have let her have her way.

Buying Vegetables from the Market

This morning, my mother asked me to bring some vegetables from the market. I took my bicycle
and went to the vegetable marker. There are a large number of shops in this market. All the shops
were crowded with men and women. The shopkeepers were crying in their hoarse voices to attract
customers. Some ladies were haggling with the vegetable sellers. It is a narrow market and so there
was a good deal of jostling. I went from shop to shop and compared the rates. I bought potatoes,
peas and okras. I loaded these things on my bicycle and came back home. My mother praised me
for having made a good purchase.

A Sleepless Summer Night

Last night, it was terribly hot. To make it worse, there was no electricity. After the day's hard work,
I was feeling very tired. I wanted to lie down and sleep. Bur sleep was simply impossible in such a
sultry weather. I tried to fan myself with a piece of cardboard. But it gave me no relief. And then
there were these big mosquitoes. They bit me all over my face, hands and feet. I would jump out
of my bed and move restlessly. It continued all through the night. I could hardly have a wink of
sleep the whole night. By about six in the morning, the electricity came and with it came a sigh of
relief.
