The document summarizes a student project to reverse engineer a basic electric fan. The students sought to understand the fan's parts and their interconnections, functions, and how the motor works. Through disassembly, they analyzed the fan's battery, circuit, motor, blades, and other elements. The battery provides power through a circuit to the motor, which uses electromagnetism to spin the fan blades and move air. For their redesign, the students proposed adding a water spray bottle to the fan unit to disperse water into a mist as it is sprayed.

Ideally we would have liked to redesign the shell of the fan to accommodate the spray bottle but in reality we would’ve had to use some sort of adhesive or support system to keep the bottle in position. Our idea was that we would have the nozzle of the spray bottle near the fan so when the water is sprayed the fan would disperse it into a mist.
