INTRODUCTION
Dredging is as an efficient means to excavate sand, gravel, precious metals, coal, phosphates, and
various other minerals that are mined and added to many materials we use daily. Most mining dredges
require higher levels of throughput and must be designed for the rugged demand for the materials being
dredged.
Most dredge pumps come rated for a specific kind of work. Depending on the volume and area of
waterway you wish to dredge, it may be wise to invest in greater capacity for the future. Creative
Dredge Pumps are available either diesel or electric drives.

APPLICATIONS OF A DREDGE PUMP
Creative Dredge pumps’ application in dredging include: sand and gravel extraction; clean up of rivers,
locks, lakes and lagoons; dredging of harbors and dams up to 300m depth and 120mm cross-section;
intake towers cleaning-emptying of caissons and bulkheads.
Creative Dredge pumps have a complete line of pumps for slurries. Dredge pumps’ application in
mining include: clean up of settling tanks; tailing removal, de-sludging; removal of slimes; drilling
waters; separation and grinding plant; inert wash sludge; minerals and foundry sand.

WEAR PARTS MATERIAL SELECTION

Selecting the type of materials to be used for slurry pumping applications is not a precise procedure. The
procedure must account for all of the variable characteristics of the particular slurry and take into account the
constraints imposed by the following:
• Type of pump,
• Pump speed, and
• Options within the range of the models available.

The basic data required to make a selection of the type of material is:
• The particle sizing of the solids to be pumped,
• The shape and hardness of these solids, and
• The corrosive properties of the “liquid” transport component of the
slurry to be pumped.

The material selection for the pump liners and impellers is made from
two basic types of materials:
•Natural Rubber‐polyurethane and other Elastomers.
• Wear/Erosion resistant cast alloys.
