4- Very Satisfactory 1- Did not meet expectation
3- Satisfactory

Indicators 5 4 3 2 1
A. Introduction
1. The research questions/objectives are accompanied by a background of the problem and the
rationale or justification for the study. Background information regarding the problem was
introduced with documentation like news articles or literature.
2. The research questions/objectives clearly state what the study would like to achieve.
3. The research questions/objectives are significant and promote further study.
4. The benefits of the recipients are clearly stated. The explanations are concrete and not general
statements.
5. The Conceptual Framework clearly discusses the variables and the relationship between these
variables.
6. The paper provides the set of ideas that limits the paper.
B. Review of Related Literature and Studies
1. Relevant Literature and Studies are properly identified and cited. Synopsis or synthesis of each
study is complete to include the focus of study, method, population, and major findings.

2. The similarities and differences between each study and the present study are identified for all
cited literature.
3. The cited literature are pertinent to the research problem.
4. There is a logical organization of the review.
5. All variables and sub-variables have adequate literature.
6. Thesis statement, date, place, findings, and relationship are discussed.
C. Methodology (Part 1)
1. The thesis’ Research Design is consistent with the Research Title.
2. The thesis’ Research Design is consistent with the Main Question and Specific Questions.
3. The researchers discussed why the chosen Research Design is the most appropriate for the
research at hand.
4. The researchers discussed how the data was actually gathered in the Data Gathering
Procedure section. The discussion included any deviation from the planned sampling technique,
whether they used pen-and-paper or online surveys and instruments.
5. Descriptive statistics like percentages, frequencies, appropriate measures of central tendency
and measures of variability were discussed in the Data Analysis Procedure section; while
inferential statistics were discussed completely*.
D. Methodology (Part 2)
1. The paper discussed who the Population of the study is. The researchers defined who they are,
how many they are (e.g. based on data sources like PSA, city/municipal census), and where
they are located.
2. The appropriate or expected sample size was computed based on statistical/mathematical
methods.
3. The Sampling Technique is a type of probability sampling technique appropriate for quantitative
research.
4. The Research Instrument was described as to its source (researcher-made, adapted, or
adopted). Proper citation for the source/s is used.
E. Documentation/Format/Writing Conventions
1. Proper format for pagination, margin and spacing is observed.
2. There is proper citation of sources (using the APA format).
3. The paper is free from spelling errors, misuse of punctuation marks, and grammatical errors.

F. Overall Quality of the Paper

1. The research paper fits the qualifications of the proponents.
2. The research paper possesses novelty; it is not just a replication.
