Others

happened?

WORD

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have
works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and
lacking in daily food 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed
and filled”, without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is
that? James 2:14-16

These passages reminded us that our FAITH should not be seen by what we
say but should be seen by what we do, with what God says to us. There are
two ways that God placed in our hearts for faith to be evident.
1. Faith comes from hearing APPLICATION

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his • Is there a particular situation that God is telling you to step out in faith
son Isaac on the altar? James 2:21 this week? What will you do?
• Talk about the moment you heard and obeyed the voice of God.
How did it change your perspective in life?
James described that someone persuaded father Abraham. Because of
Abraham’s obedience to God, he went to the land God told him to offer
Isaac. Who persuade us? God or someone else? What Romans 10:17 says
about faith? PRAYER

• Ask God for open doors to demonstrate gospel in your giving without
the feel of guilt and fear, but by faith and obedience.
2. Works out of obedience but not out of fear
• Thank God for the faith he has placed in your heart, that you take

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works the time to develop hearing, recognizing and obeying his voice.
is dead. James 2:26 • Pray to God for open doors to those who are longing for God’s
love.
This passage tells us that gospel demonstrated by our obedience to
whatever God tells us to do. Like what happened to father Abraham
when God tested him. He obeyed God and offered Isaac as a sacrifice
without fear, because God told him not to worry. When was the last
time you disobeyed God because of fear?
