Competency 2
Quarter 2

Learning At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
Objectives

Subject integration English Figurative Language (ONOMATOPEIA, ESP different ways of taking
care/protecting one’s HEART, Arts by sketching the parts of the heart.
Concept:
The 3 major parts of the circulatory system are heart, blood vessels and blood:
- Heart is the pumping station of the body
- Blood vessels permit the blood to flow to the different parts of the body
- Blood carries the nutrients to the different parts of our body

FUNCTIONS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

1. Circulates blood to all parts of the body.
2. Transports wastes, including carbon dioxide, away from the cells.
3. Helps maintain correct body temperature.
4. Helps fight disease, through white blood cells and antibodies in the blood.
5. Transports water, oxygen and nutrients to cells.

PROCEDURE:

Awareness Listening: Guest the Sound (English Integration)
Onomatopoeia, is defined as a word which imitates the natural sounds of a thing. It creates a

Activity
Class is divided to 4 groups and given an activity. Each group will have a discussion
and report.

Matching the picture(ANALOGY) with the function of the Circulatory System

Circulates blood to all parts of the body.

Transports wastes, including carbon dioxide

away from the cells.

Transports water, oxygen and nutrients to cells.

Helps maintain correct body temperature.

Helps fight disease, through white blood cells and

antibodies in the blood.

Analysis
Checking of Activity:
There will be 1 representative (pupil) per group to report/explain in front of the class.
