Acceptability and marketability of pan de sal with

okra / lady’s fingers as ingredient

Food consumption and utilization is directly related to one’s

physical nourishment. A well-balanced diet and suitable nutrition
practices promote good health (Tanchoco, 2011).In the Philippines, a
wholesome meal plan, as suggested by the Food and Nutrition
Research Institute (FNRI), varies according to the needs of the five
age group, namely, ages 1-6, 7-12, teen, adult and elderly, and
individuals with special needs, like pregnant and lactating mothers
(DST/ Food and Nutrition Research Institute, 2008).
The study tries to evaluate the level of acceptability and
marketability of okra as an ingredient on a morning food, Pan de Sal.
Okra is used because of all the health benefits you acquire from it
(Estrada, 2015). It involved 90 respondents and was organized as
three groups: teens, young adults, and adults. The groups were given
pan de okra to test its appearance, sound/crunchiness, taste, and
texture. 4Ps (Product, Place, Price, and Promotion) were assessed as
well. After the data was collected and tallied, the okra ingredient is
acceptable and very agreeable by the respondents. Marketing
Strategies were very agreeable as well.

Acceptability of loaf bread with guyabano leaves and
its marketability

People do not have an idea that guyabano leaves can be eaten;

hence, this became the idea of the research. Guyabano leaves, can
be added to loaf breads, wherein it contains properties which can help
in preventing cancer. In 2011, Irlandez stated that since recorded
history of human existence, medicinal plants have been the only
means of people for medication and innovation on its extraction has
made it popular and easier to be included and mixed in foods without
noticing its after taste.

The study aimed to know the acceptability of loaf bread with

guyabano leaves powder and its marketability. The loaf bread was
assessed based on its aroma, color, texture, and marketability. The
researchers had gathered 90 respondents to participate in the study.
The respondents were grouped into 3: teens, young adults, and
adults. The results were astounding. Its appearance was extremely
agreeable and the rest were very agreeable. The proportions of
guyabano leave powder, specifically, 5grams, 10 grams, and 15
grams, were very agreeable as well. This implied that the loaf bread is
acceptable and marketable in the market.

Kangkong Tea: Its Acceptability and Comparability

Kangkong is a highly nutritious plant with high levels of protein,

calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamins A, B, & C. it is not seasonal,
grows abundantly in tropical countries like Philippines, and proven as
a cancer preventive yet Kangkong is still not popular in the Philippines
especially to the children if it is just eaten as a vegetable. The study is
conducted to determine the comparability and acceptability of
Kangkong tea in terms of appearance, aroma, and taste.
The study had 11 respondents (10 chefs and 1 instructor) who
will participate in the study. The significant value of the comparability
and acceptability of Kangkong tea is greater than the alpha value
which means that the hypothesis is accepted. The taste of the three
variations of Kangkong leaves was more comparable of far better than
Lipton Tea. For the aroma, the feedback was the same on the taste. It
is far better than Lipton Tea. On its appearance, it is highly acceptable
by the respondents than Lipton Tea. These three determine that it is
possible that Kangkong Tea is acceptable in the market.
To further improve the study, more respondents should be
involved. It must be shared to different individuals to show that
Kangkong has a potential of being a good health ingredient because
of its natural properties and dietary implications.
