AIM:-

To separate the iron losses of a single phase transformer into its components
a. Hysteresis losses
b. Eddy current losses

THEORY:
PROCEDURE
1. Give connection as per the circuit diagram
2. Close the DPST switch
3. Start the motor with the help of starter
4. For each assumed frequency, calculate speed and voltage so as to keep flux
density constant
5. The field rheostat of the motor is adjusted to run the alternator at desired speed
6. The field rheostat of the alternator is adjusted to make the voltmeter reading such
that V/f is constant
7. Repeat the above procedure for different frequencies
8. Draw the graph by taking Wi/f along Y axis and frequency along X axis
9. The Y intercept of the curve gives K1 and the slope gives K2
10. The eddy current and Hysteresis losses are calculated by using formulas
