Ethical behavior in an organization.

Ethical behavior in an organization is very important so that its members will have a good
and harmonious relationship thus will enable them to deal with issues regarding what is
morally good and bad, Jessa Gazzingan, a faculty member of Barucboc NHS said.
Further, Marjorie Millanes the BNHS faculty president point out that Respect,
accountability and responsibility is very important in organization to avoid conflicts and
misunderstanding. She also said that once you respect your colleagues you must not
backstab and goosip about them “diba napaka IN yan sa isang organization na sarili mong
kawork pinag uusapan ka, kaya minsan nagkakaroon ng away” end quote. On the other
hand, Joy S. Ferrer-Lopez the SHS coordinator argued that CRAB MENTALITY is one of
the diseases that we have in an organization. “ayaw ko ng magbigay ng sample as a
teacher we already know what I mean. Another thing is that if there is a problem it must
be immediately addressed by giving and dicusiing Deped order and memorandum related
to the issue pero siempre mas maganda kung kausapin yung concern people muna. End

Ethical Leadership.

Ethical leadership is very hard to define because you can follow the rules and
regulations yet you are not ethical at all but in some scenarios, you can be ethical even if
you do not follow laws, rules and regulations. In school setting, following the rules and
regulations mandated by the government is very important just like to us School head
wherein we have to look out for the students and teacher’s welfare as well as the whole
school. Being in this position, I have learned that I need to open minded in any occasion
and scenarios to be able to do what is right, Jelita A. Soria, principal of BNHS pointed
out.
Further, Romelia Cabacungan one of the faculty members in the said school said
that a leader must be fair enough, and I quote “ dapat ang leader pantay pantay ang tingin
sa mga nasasakupan niya kasi minsan ang inggit ay napaka lakas na puwersa na siyang
nagiging dahilan ng pagkakaroon ng away at inggit” end quote.
Moreover, teacher Princess Bulan said that as a teacher she can show ethical
behavior by being a role model to her students by imparting knowledge to the students
as well as inspiring and motivating them to show respect towards other people because
it is also one way of respecting and loving yourself.
Meanwhile the SHS coordinator Joy S. Ferrer-Lopez said that as a leader you must
respect your subordinates, delegate teachers in accordance to their talents and skills as
well as provide equal opportunities for them to grow professionally. For example, is
protecting confidentiality and privacy of your subordinates another is transparency in
deped orders and memorandum “Kasi nga meron yung mga ibang leaders na madamot
sa opportunity which is very wrong.” End quote. That is why being a leader is easy but
being an ethical leader is really hard because you have to deal with diversity of teachers.

EFFECTIVE USE OF CODE OF ETHICS

Pursuant to Article II of Republic Act No. 7836 or the Code of ethics for
Professional teachers wherein, teachers must possess dignity and reputation with high
moral values as well as technical and professional competence in the practice of their
noble profession, they strictly adhere to, observe, and practice this set of ethical and moral
principles, standards , and values. “This is also the reason why it is one of the subjects
for Education students so that they will be knowledgeable on what is right and wrong in
the world of professional teachers,” Helen Navaro one of the teachers of BNHS and the
designated Guidance Counselor of the school.
Sir Marcelo Sakiting one of the teachers of Barucboc national high school said that
he knows the code of ethics because this is a guide on how we are going to behave
properly, know our limitations on how to act and react about certain things. Further he
said that “ If we are going to ralte it to my case wherein I am already separated with my
wife because of personal reasons and now that we already have a new family which
happened years before I was employed as teacher, I can say that in some manner it is
unethical but as for me and my former wife we already discuss things and separated
peacefully.
Meanwhile, Joy S. Ferrer-Lopez the SHS coordinator emphasize that the code of
ethics are indeed one of the foundation of education
MANAGING ETHICAL LAPSES AND SOCIAL IRRESPONSIBILITY
In every organization there will always be ethical lapses and conflicts about work and
personal life but the question is how am I going to manage this difficulties as the head of
the school, The first thing I do whenever we have social irresponsibility is to find the truth
not to blame the person in charge but to talk to him/her about the issue so I can be bale
to help her and together we will solve the problem, end quote jelita a soria the principal

On the other hand, Joy S. ferrer-lopez, SHS coordinator pointed out that introducing and
implementing training programs will be a big help in managing ethical lapses and social
irresponsibility because some teachers are bombarded with a lot of work which
sometimes lead them in neglecting their true assignment which is teaching training about
time and stress management would be a graet help. Another is, in a n organization
colleagues must be able to speak up, so it is very important to have a dialogue or a
meeting every now and then to address issues and concerns of teacher because
sometime teachers are having their own group which lead them to have their own
organization inside the organization which is the cause of misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, Marjorie M. Gumaru , teacher 2 of the said school reiterate that as a teacher
we encounter different ethical problems inside and outside the school premises such as
thievery ,bullying and other things as for me I always talk to my students with compassion
because I do believe that every human has a good side and if all of the people that
surrounds the kids will think of them negatively then they will be lost eventually. I always
consider my students a part of me so that I could be able to understand them even in their
worst and it is very fulfilling when you saw them change and follow the right way. As a
teacher, I sometimes neglect my social responsibility because of the things that we have
to do inside and outside the school but it is just great that I have a very supportive co
teachers in the shs department. They always cheer you up and help each one in terms of
difficulties and being surrounded with this kind of people really help me to be abetter
person
