about arrr.. as a prominient figure.
DR ZAHURI Prominient figure???
INTERVIEWER A Yes.. as we know, you’re the headmaster of
the..
DR ZAHURI Principal…..
INTERVIEWER A Principal of college Zaaba..
DR ZAHURI Alright, Yeah..
INTERVIEWER A After than that, we also know that youuu teach
aaaaa.. in painting.
DR ZAHURI Part of, yeah..
INTERVIEWER A So, what aaaa… your greatest archievement in
painting?
DR ZAHURI Painting ! greatest archievement was, I don’t
have greatest archievement in painting. But I
have my solo exhibition in the United Kingdom
before, two major exhibiton in Chierfield, one
solo exhibition in Wales and one group
exhibition in Venice, Italy and aaaa.. I did most
of my solo exhibition abroad, not in Malaysia
but kindly I just finish two major solo exhibition
in Malaysia, aaaaaaa.. and sell one of my
painting to Munich, Germany and it’s been
sold.. aaaaaa… and I apply to have another one
major solo exhibition. I am still working on my
artwork and not only my artwork in painting. I
also produce another type of artwork as well
yeahh..
INTERVIEWER A So, did you take your student to go abroad also
or??
DR ZAHURI Owhhh.. ok.. No.. aaaaaar.. sell my artwork
abroad is only my artwork, but yes! Last 2
years, we sent our student to University of
Toxins, Songkla, Thailand. Emmm. Made the
kind of collaboration with them, we made the
exhibition from the students artworks as well.
As we invite the students from the Toxins
University to exhibiated their work here in
U.P.S.I..
INTERVIEWER A Another questions?
INTERVIEWER B Next questions is, as we know art is large
subject, why you choose panting than anything
else?
DR ZAHURI Basically, I not only choose only painting in arts.
I also, my major arrrr.. interest in artwork is
engineering in arts which produce kind of
video, the documentary and so painting is
consider of fundamental basic skill in fine art.
 As well as, currently I teach painting in my
studio subject. Painting is very fundamental,
what we call very fundamental skill that arrrr..
required to be not only an artist but if you want
to learn art then you need to master your skill
in painting, So I think this is very important skill
that every art student must master on it. Yeah…
INTERVIEWER B The next questions is.. Nowdays, people said
art is not give enough money or salary
(income).. So, what you comment about that?
DR ZAHURI Arrrr.. The problem with our society is they look
at narrow way because maybe the look at
particulary in painting. Those who are master
this creative process. Normally, the problem
not from the society, the problem is from the
person who study in arts. You.. I think in this
era, In this globalization era, you cannot be
painter only. You need to transfer your creative
mind, your creative thinking, your creative skills
to another field od job as well. You know?
Nowdays, we need multiple skills in every arrrr..
field that we want to involve. I think ermmm…
we should implement more another than be a
very good administer officer as on, but you
need to be more creative. So, I think art student
not. Cannot only leave on the skill on their
producing an artwork. But, instead of that, if
you manage to put yourself in the very higher
level to be a painter or art person… I think that
quiet number of people in Malaysia who are
consider a silence millionaire.. you know, for
instead if you can sell your panting for let says 5
thousand. The minimum of 5 thousand ringgit
for a piece. That also a good income, you know
their.. Nowdays you need to market your
artworks not only in Malaysia, but abroad as
well. So I think , it depends how you look at the
position be an artist. But if you are just a solso
artist, I think you need to implement your skill
to another position of a .. you know.. career in
your life.
