behavior toward his goal or desired elect : NEEDS are the basic components or requisites for life, without which
man and other livingorganism may cease to exist , such as food ,clothing home.not just a shelter, health care,
education,and even entertainment. As life needs to be fun and enjoyable as well WANTS on other the hand , from
are luxuries (luho) that people can live quite decently. They result from envy, greed or the desire to be popular like
possession of top of the line electronic gadgets, jewelr , and expensive model cars.VALUES are lifes artifacts that
we prize ad cherish most.the shown government employee values her work and the trust .GOALS whe you achieved
your goal the persons behavior changes .goals may be classified as positive or negative . positive goal is something
that an individual aspires for or attempts to achieve.negative goals is one that a person tries to escapr or avoid.such
as dangerous or unpleasant situation.
Needs, Wants,and Values of a person can be prioritized according to his status and role in society thus, a need could
also be a value and vice-versa.

KINDS OF MOTIVE/DRIVE
Motive/Drive may be biological/physiological or psycho-social.

Biological or physiological motives are referred to as “inborn” or primary. They are associated with some bodily or
physical need is satisfied. They are present at birth and are characterized by tension.
As every individual tries to efficiently and appropriately satisfy such physiological needs. He also is maintaining a
fully-functional, internal environment. HOMEOSTASIS is the internal balance of physiological drives.
The HYPOTHALAMUS in the brain is the center for the regulation of body temperature.
Psychosocial drives, on the other hand are considered acquired or secondary because they are learned from past
experiences habits or other behavior patterns usually stem out of the psychosocial needs that were identified in early
childhood.

Theories Of Motivation

1. Economic man - People are primarily motivated by economic needs. In the workplace, their feelings must be
controlled by the organization.

2. Social man - People are motivated by their relationships with others and without this they do not exist. The need
to belong to social groups and teams is critical.
3. Complex man - People are variable in what motivates them. Their self motivation changes from time to time, and
through time, and from situation to situation.

4. The achiever- People with high need to achieve, do achieve more than those with low need and with no need at
all.

5. Expectant Man – A theory where the workers perceived competence to do a job well and the equitable reward he
considers fair and just.

For most Filipinos,the dominant motivational factor is the family,particularly the parents.At young age,children are
often influenced by parents,implicitly or explicitly,of things that they should have,of what they should grow up to
be.They are made to think about this need and subconsciously grow with it. Real motivation comes from strong
family support that will ansure fulfillment of his learned needs. as he performs well in school,work or whatever
endeavor. Open communication and strong feedback system are also crucial.

A good family atmosphere and a comfortable environment,where love,positive support,and encouragement exists
are essential in order for an individual to do his best to attain his goals for the fulfillment of family needs and in the
end,will lead to self-satisfaction
