I. Introduction

A. Background of the Study

As part of Digital Era or Modern Era impossible things are now possible by

the help of technology. And it helps our lives to become more efficient. And some

of the problem of school is that they don’t have a system to make the process

more simply, but in our digital era which everything is just one click. It is possible in

the present to do such thing that make our lives become our comfortably.

CPTSS is system that used by the CPT student of Universidad de manila

that is located at Annex Building C. Palanca street Sta. Cruz, Manila and have a

contact number 333 – 65 – 82 or 336 – 89 – 66 where the student and other

student can inquire. CIT or the College Industrial Technology is a department

where the CPT is included. CIT doesn’t have a system for the students have a

paperless process of enrollment and by year 2018 CIT has the system called OGIS

where the students can print or check the grades that helps the student to check

grades or print whenever or wherever they need. Now, it still improving the system

by this year 2019.

A. Background of the Study

CPTSS are used in primarily in recording and retrieving the data of the

student’s information the researchers conducted this study to help the students to

view their grades and the professor and to select the schedules they want. A

previous study found out that the pre-enrollment system is very helpful to all

students, and easy to insert their information to the profile of the student to know

the admin the information of the students. CPTSS is designed to perform the

process involved the scheduling and the grades of the students. and it can also

retrieve the account of the students.

The general problem will seek the answer to this question:

How to create a system that will manipulate everything that includes

information and data of the student and Professors.

1.2. Specific Problem

This study will be looking for answers to these questions.

Will the CPT students agree on the following?

 System of scheduling process is way better if its online.

 System Grades of the student will be better if the system is online

and the grades can be printed.

 System will be more efficient, fast and accurate if it is online.

 System will be the way to have an easily communication to the

school admin.

C. Objective of the Study

a. General Objective

The General Objective of this study is that to create a system is to

help the CPT student to make an easy access, retrieve information, data

and profile of the students. This system helps the student to be paperless

and costless. This system help manages students easier and that include

the scheduling and schedules of student and grades of students.

b. Specific Objectives

The proponents wanted to achieve the following:

 To create a system that will give the complete information of the

student

 To create a modern way of communication for digital era

 To create an online system that will be the way to communicate

 To develop a system that will make the student retrieve their data

or information.

 To create a system that student can make their own schedule

online.

D. Scope and Limitation

This system started last August 2019 up to this month of

September. The scope of this project is System for CPT or Computer

Programming Technology including the design for home page that

contains, video of developers’ tutorial about MONGODB and the Mission,

Vision of Universidad De Manila. It also displays in the home page the

login for student or admin and the register for the student who want to

enroll. The user will see the Merlion logo that representing the Universidad

de manila and if the user clicks this logo that will display the About page in

the second page of the system and that include the History of UDM the

Objectives of the developers, MISSION, VISION of CIT and the facility of

the campus and the user will see also about this course and what will be

the best job for this course by clicking the computer icon. And last if the

end user login by clicking the login icon and the end user will choose if

admin or student then it will go to login form. After logging in it will display

the profile of the end user and if the end user is student it displays the

picture of the student, student profile, schedule, grades and professors.

And when the end user clicks the schedule it’s either the end user will set

or edit schedules or check the schedules only.

And if the end user chooses to set or edit the schedule it will display

the next page that the end user can change the schedules. And after

choosing and saving, the end user can check the new schedules that have

been chosen. If the end user clicks the grades, it will display another page

that displays the end user’s grades in every subject and the GWA or

GENERAL WEIGHTED AVERAGE. And in the last the professors page that

will only displays the name and profile of every professors of the student.

This project will particularly use a VB.net or Visual Basic to create

this system. However, the project or programs have only the simplest but

have good graphics. This system only for CPT students and other course

student or department cannot access this system. This inclusive only for

CPT students. And the register is only for the students who want to enroll to

this school, and it will only available when the enrollment is open, and the

login is inclusive only for the students who is officially enrolled from this

course. And in scheduling for students it only access or edit when the

enrollment is open or every semester. And in the student, the student can

edit only the address, contact number.

E. Significant of the Study

This Study will benefit the following, first the Universidad De

Manila because it represents that the school is in digital era that using

technology just like other schools and university. Second the

Department of CIT or College of Industrial Technology because CPT

students is part of this department in that represent the department ‘s

technology is improving.

And last, of course the Computer Programming Technology

or CPT Students. They are specially the one who will benefit this study.

Because they are the target of this study and it represent this study to

their course. It will help them to be knowledgeable enough for this

course and have a new way in making scheduling and process of

gradings in a modern way. This study has the advantages to all these

CPT STUDENTS is that they can make their own scheduling by this

system. And, they can easily check their information, edit their records.

This study is sake the of every student who are only officially enrolled

to UDM. This system is to make every student of CPT to lessen the

work and cost because it helps the student to be paperless. And it

fastens the process of scheduling and grading.
