House Rules of M. S.

Fornolles in AC 2102 and AC 1104

Every meeting, always bring with you an unused 10-column or 12-column worksheet, an
intermediate paper and a calculator.

Assignment: Your name must be indicated at the upper left hand side of your paper, with your
family name written ahead of your firstname and middle initial. At the upper right hand side of your
paper, you must indicate your class schedule (eg: MW 10:30-12:00) and below that will be the date
of the submission of your paper following the given format (eg: 08/20/2019).

Hand in your paper personally to your teacher otherwise your paper will not be accepted. You are
not allowed to ask a classmate or a friend to submit your paper on your behalf.

Late assignments will never be accepted, even if you plan to submit it on the same day. I will not
tolerate reasons such as "Miss, I left my assignment in the dorm, in the car, etc...."

Exams

 Your teacher will give you 2 mastery tests during the first half of the sem. and another 2
mastery tests for the second half of the sem. which will always be announced.

 Your teacher also has the right to give you an unannounced pretest or posttest to keep your
mind working and alert at all times.

 Exams will normally compose of two parts. Part 1 will be in multiple choice format, and will
mostly be theoretical questions.

 Part 2 will be in open ended format and will mostly be problem solving. This is not a hard
and fast rule though, the teacher may alter the format as the need arises.

 Keep your test papers so that in case of any questions regarding the computation of your
grade, you can easily refer back to your exam scores.

 No scratch paper is allowed. Extra sheets of paper will be provided during the exam.

Behavior

 When the teacher is discussing, students must listen attentively. Everyone is encouraged to
ask questions regarding the subject matter.
 If there’s a need to attend to your personal necessities (ie. go to the restroom or to the clinic),
raise your hand to your teacher to be excused and leave the classroom silently.
 You may eat or drink during class hours provided it does not distract the class.

Mobile Phone Usage

 Students must keep their mobile phones in silent mode. If your phone rings during my
discussion, I may confiscate your phone and turn it over to the Office of the Department
Chair where you can claim it only at the end of the semester.
 10. Supplementary Materials
 But you are also expected to read your textbook and other references or reading materials or
even internet sources to enhance your knowledge.

Grading System: Midterm average computed as follows: 1/3 for the written exams, 1/3 for other
class standing requirements, and 1/3 from the midterm departmental exam. Your final grade is
based on the average of the following: 1/3 from the midterm average, 1/3 from class standing after
midterms, and 1/3 from the final departmental exam.
