I read the six questions of DeVito in the IPC book.

While I was reading them, the question that ‘The

more you communicate, the better at it you will be’ surprised me the most. This means that
practicing more communication will make a person better. Only communicating does not solve many
problems. The communication should be meaningful, it should be fruitful and it should also add value
to the message. Yes it is true that more of public speaking help people to improve their
communication but unless the mistakes that one makes while communicating is evaluated and
improved, there is no use of communicating again and again There are various modes of
communication that have come up these days like communicating using PPTs, via visuals or movies
and speeches of famous people. These modes of communication are self-explanatory. So I felt that
people understand it better and it also improves the communication between two people as the
message is understood more clearly. The question implied that one should practice communicating
with people as it makes the person better, but the person should also learn a proper way of
communication so that the effectiveness can be improved further. Learning happens when there is
improvement on the mistakes that people make while communicating.
