Installing Mongoose MFC Software from Techinfo Website
Required to proceed:
• PC with Windows XP, or 7 (32 or 64-bit), and Internet Explorer. Mongoose MFC does NOT
support Windows 8. Please upgrade to MongoosePro MFC if you are using Windows 8.
(procedure below is specific to Windows 7 32-bit PC and Mongoose MFC hardware)
• PC configured for access to the Internet

Perform the following:

1. Login to Techinfo.toyota.com

2. Click on TIS-> Diagnostics-> ScanTool-> 32-bit Mongoose Software Installer v01.02.07

Note: At the time this document is written, the latest software version available is v
01.02.07.
You may see an updated version listed.

3. Click on Run to begin the installation.

4. Setup screen appears as shown below. Click on “I accept the terms in the License
Agreement” then click on Install.

5. During the installation, you will be notified to attach the Mongoose MFC device to the
Computer after the installation is complete. Click on OK.

 6. Once the software installation is complete, click on Finish.

7. Connect the Mongoose MFC VIM to the PC via USB port. The Mongoose MFC driver will
be installed automatically. After a few minutes, confirm the green LED light in the OBD-II
end of the cable is flashing. This indicates the driver is installed and Mongoose VIM is ready
to be used.

Installing Techstream Software from Techinfo Website

Perform the following:
1. Login to Techinfo.toyota.com

2. Click on TIS -> Diagnostics -> ScanTool -> Techstream v4.21.002 Full Software
Installer
Note: At the time this document is written, the latest software version available is v4.21.002.
You may see an updated version listed.

3. Click on Run and wait until the download is completed

4. Click on Run to begin the installation

5. Select a Language, English is selected by default. Click on Next to continue

6. Click on Next again to continue

7. Accept the License Agreement terms and click on Next

8. Enter Your name and Company name, and click on Next

9. Click on Install to begin the installation of the Techstream software

 10. Click on Finish to complete the installation

Configuring Techstream Software for Your PC

Perform the following:
1. From your Windows Desktop, double click on the Techstream icon

2. Select North America and click on Next

 3. Select a Language from the Drop-down option, default is English, and click on Next

4. Enter the required information as shown below and click on OK

Registering Techstream Software

Techstream Software requires registration with the TIS site before it can connect to a vehicle.
Techstream registration is limited to only one PC per TIS subscription. The Techstream registration
will be good for the duration of the TIS subscription.

To Register perform the following:

1. From Techstream main screen, click on Software Registration

2. Click on Software Registration button

3. Login to techinfo.toyota.com website

4. Enter a Computer Name and a Shop/Owner Name and then click on Calculate Key

5. Copy the Key from Techinfo website

6. Return to Techstream Registration screen and paste the Key in the New Key: box then click on
OK to register.

The Registration screen is now closed and Techstream software is registered

Selecting the Mongoose MFC VIM from Techstream
Techstream software requires a VIM selection before you can use the Mongoose MFC VIM. To
Select the Mongoose MFC VIM, follow the steps below:

Perform the following:

1. Select Setup from Techstream Main Menu screen
2. Select VIM Select from the Setup drop down menu
3. Click the drop-down arrow
4. Select Mongoose MFC from the Interface Setup drop down list
5. Click OK
Note: Mongoose MFC Software and Driver must be installed before Mongoose MFC
selection will be available.

Connecting to Vehicle to Verify Techstream Lite Operation
Perform the following:
1. Connect Mongoose MFC device to PC via USB port.
2. Connect Mongoose MFC device to vehicle’s OBD-II port.
3. From Techstream main screen, click on Connect to Vehicle

4. Vehicle information should be populated as the example shown below. Select the
appropriate vehicle Option: and click on Next.

 5. From the System Select menu, select an ECU and click on the Green Arrow to confirm
communication with the ECU.
