CHAPTER 1

TERM OF REFERENCES

1.1. INTRODUCTION

Paku Field is located in Block PM6 Offshore Terengganu, Malaysia in Malay Basin.
PM6 block is at the southern part of Malay Basin. Paku Field is located south of
Meranti, south-west of Dulang, north of Beranang and north-west of Ketumbar. The
water depth is 76 metres. Paku Field consists of 5 main wells which are Paku-1, Paku-2
(005º36’59.6411’’N, 103º53’54.997’’E), Paku-3 (000º0’0.0977’’N, 100º30’40.582’’E),
Paku-4 (005º35’36.9’’N, 103º56’55.5’’E) and Paku-NW (005º36’25.6901’’N,
103º52’5.6’’E).

1.2. OBJECTIVES

The objective of Field Development Plan (FDP) is to perform a technical and economic
study of Paku Field by focusing on the latest technologies, economics, environmental
and political conditions and implementing knowledge gained from Oil and Gas
Engineering courses.

1.3. SCOPE OF WORK

This project involves development of oil and gas reservoirs in Paku field within 18
weeks. Focus will be given to oil development. The disciplines involved in this FDP are
Geology and Geophysics, Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering,

Production Technology, Facilities Engineering, Economics and Health, Safety and
Environment.

1.3.1. Deliverables

The deliverables from each discipline are shown in the Table 1.1 below.
