official high school and college competition goal height is 10', but a new basketball system fixed at 10' will
be a big disappointment to youngsters learning to get the ball to the goal. Most young players and teens
will also want to lower the goal below 10' for slam dunk action. A 10' fixed-height goal is appropriate if
you want to play only at the official competitive height.
The backboard material affects the quality of play.
Glass is used for all competition backboards in high school, college and pro arenas because a glass
backboard gives the best ball rebound. A home court with a Bison TruGlass™ backboard is the best

backboards of graphite, steel and fiberglass all have aesthetic, durability or price benefits – but none of

The distance between the pole and the backboard ranges from 22" to 60" on Bison pole systems. There’s no
one blowing a whistle under the boards in most driveway games. If you expect aggressive play, you should

Will your system be installed on a driveway in the front of the house? On the side, or out of sight in the back

Bison® Limited Warranties

All Bison products are warranted against manufacturing defects at the
time of delivery. In addition, most products are covered by warranties
stated in the description of the product or in supporting specification
charts. Where listed as “limited”, warranties shall cover damage or
failure that occurs during the course of “normal or intended use” of the
warranted product. Normal or intended use shall be described as activity
that is necessary for the participation in the sport for which the equip-
ment is designed.
Limited warranties on Bison basketball equipment include damage
caused by slam dunking and normal player contact with the goal, but
does not include damage caused by deliberate hanging, multiple player
hanging, vandalism, non-basketball activities or any other activity that
could be regarded as abusive.
When warranties are stated as “unconditional” or "unconditional
replacement”, the above stated limitations do not normally apply.
Normal deterioration of products due to weather, wear and tear, or other
causes that do not affect functional use are not covered by any Bison
warranty regardless of type of stated warranty.
All Bison Safe Stuff™ backboard and pole padding is covered for a
period of one year.
All warranties are valid only when product is used in the intended appli-
cation as outlined in Bison’s printed literature, when installed according
to Bison’s instructions and when matched with compatible components
as described in Bison literature. Under no circumstances will product
shown in this Bison Premium Residential Sports Equipment Catalog be
warranted for commercial or institutional use. Due to the abusive nature
of pay-to-play basketball facilities, unless specifically agreed to in writ-
ing, Bison products carry no warranty when used in a facility where
players pay an individual fee to use Bison equipment.
Bison will pay ground freight only to replace defective merchandise.
Bison will not be responsible for labor costs incurred due to product
defects.
