INSTALLATION NOTES

1. To Install Itasca Software

Execute [CD]:\START.EXE and make the appropriate selection.

2. To Install\View the Online Manuals

----------------------------

Choose "manuals" tab from the CD-ROM menu. Select the code whose manual
you wish to install. The installation consists of copying the manual files
to the user's hard drive and creating a shortcut on the "Start" menu (in the
"Itasca" folder under "Programs"). Use the shortcut created to open the
manual.

The manuals themselves are a series of PDF files that require the Acrobat
Reader to be viewed. The Acrobat Reader is freely available from Adobe
Corporation. A copy appropriate to the user's system (operating system,
language, etc.) may be obtained from the Adobe web site:
www.adobe.com/products/acrobat
Users should include the options available with the Reader when downloading,
which includes a "search" function that may be used with the Itasca software
manuals. However a version of the Reader that does not include the options
may be used to view the manuals without difficulty.

Note that "Acrobat" indicates the full suite of programs, including the
Acrobat Reader, that is licensed software (i.e., not free) from Adobe for
the purpose of viewing and creating PDF files. The Acrobat Reader is one
component of the Acrobat program. This component is the free portion
that users should obtain to view the Itasca software manuals.

3. Demos
--------

Some demos are included in the DEMOS directory. Execute [CD]:\START.EXE and
make the appropriate selection to access these demos, or they may be executed
directly from the CD by double-clicking the various executable files. You may
copy these files if you wish.
