In order to accomplish this with minimal CAPEX, the study focused on
utilizing existing design margins and relaxing some of the design criteria.
This highly economical approach requires the use of accurate process
simulation tools to ensure product specifications and plant safety. Aspen
HYSYS was used to develop simulation models; however, the heat
exchangers used in the flowsheet weren’t rigorous enough for the study.
