I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those people who were a part
of this internship project in numerous ways, people who gave nonbiased support
right from the commencement till the end of this internship.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our principal DR. FR. John P.J. and
vice Principal Dr. Sister Lissy Joe for their continuous support. And finally I
want to thanks our Head of Commerce Department Dr. Binoy Arickal and our
guide Ms. Richa Bhatia and entire commerce department for the guidance.
I am also blessed to be son of Mr. Avinash Agrawal, without their support and
faith I could have not been able to achieve anything and be what I am today.

PREFACE
This report has been submitted in the partial fulfilment of the requirement of the
B.Com degree. It consists of the Internship project on the post of Management
Trainee at Manglam Electronics, Bhopal (M.P.) from 07-02-19 to 21-02-19 at
03:00 P.M. till 07:00 P.M. making it to be 60 hours. This report is solely been
made by me.
The report includes all the learning during my on-job training as an intern in the
organization. I got the practical exposure of applying class room theories to
practical work of life. I have made my sincere attempts to collect the relevant
facts for the purpose of internship report and would to maintain the
confidentiality of material facts.
Writing this report has been challenging for me and I hope it fulfil the
expectations. My internship guide on this project report was Mr. Animesh
Bansal, Co-Director under Management Department, who from the beginning
introduced me to the internship i needed to undertake. I got the bright
opportunity to carry my internship at Manglam Electronics as Management
Trainee. I decided to join for this training as it would help my professional
growth and give hands on practical aspects.
This report attempts to bring under one cover the entire hard work and dedication
put in by me in completion of this project work.

JOB PROFILE
During this process, trainees gain the experience and knowledge required to
perform managerial duties alone. The primary responsibility is to work with
managers to assist them in day to day operations. The job description also
requires trainees to monitor employee output and manage functions.
Work with other managers to plan and direct the work of the
organization.
Major part of my work was to meet and deal with various customers
and introduce them with the various products available according to
their choice and tell them about the discounts and offers available on
those products.
On the very first day, I met with the director sir to know about their
company and how they work hard to be the leading brand in this city.
I was taught all the rules and regulations of the organization, which
were to be strictly followed and some of them are :-
Punctuality
Authority and responsibility
Accountability
Customer satisfaction.
Then i was introduced to all the staff members and other interns
working and learning simultaneously . I was told to follow directions
of Mr. Animesh Bansal , Co-Director , and Head of Operations at the
New Market Branch.
I was given a brief description of the products that they deal in , and
how many categories of products they have in store.
Initially my manager asked to observe the employees dealing with
customers at the point of sale. I steadily observed and learnt
thoroughly on the very first day.
As the working hours of first day came to end, manager called for me
. He spoke to me about my learning’s about dealing with customers
and the marketing skills performed by the employees. He directed me
to do the same for a few days to come so that I understand what a
customer demands and how to deal with their choices and queries.
DAY-02 DATE- 8 Feb DAY-Friday TIMING-3 P.M.
Today I was assigned to the senior sales executive who asked a few
questions as in what I have learned yesterday, how was my day, am I
enjoying the work etc.
The senior executive was happy with the product knowledge I have
gained in a day and ask to continue the good work and ask to learn
about the products details only for the day as well.
And he also said that if I have any queries regarding the product or any
offer I can directly ask him or anyone available at the moment.
Today I learned about the details and specification of the laptops and
television and their added features.
The product details are specific and the price of the product is highly
dependent on the product specializations.
DAY-04 DATE-10 Feb DAY-Sunday Timing-3 P.M.
As a routine today also went directly to the manager to report him first
and then went directly to the sales executive.
Today the sales executive asked a few more questions related to the
product details that learned and asked if I am ready for the customer
engagement. On agreeing that I might be ready to deal in customer
who requires the laptops as have learned about the features of the
laptops efficiently.
Then the sales executive informed about the offers that we have for
the different laptops and what type of quires does a customer have.
Then for the day work was assigned to the laptop section to deal with
the customers.
Was supervised by senior sales executive to support me in dealing
with the customer in case I was stuck somewhere.
In the whole day dealt with three customers who purchased the laptop
and a few who came to know about the details and required time to
make a final call.
DAY 5 DATE-11 Feb DAY-Monday Timing-3 P.M.
Things were same as before, report to the manager and then after
consulting sales executive went for same work as yesterday.
Dealing and interacting with customers was getting more interesting
and number of the deals was increasing in laptops and televisions.
After some time the sales executive called me and asked to learn
about some new products like refrigerator and washing machines.
The sales executive started telling me about features and
specifications of refrigerators and washing machine alternatively.
Then, he handed me the brochure and taught how to indulge with
customers and provide them information about the products through
that brochure.
The interest was rising in a full swing to learn more and more about
different products and handling the customers. Then attended some
customers for refrigerators but Alas! Failed in some cases to finalise
the deal.
By the time the working hours were finished.
Day 6 Date-12 Feb Day-Tuesday Timing-3:30 P.M.
The start of the day was not as earlier as I was late to reach the
organization due to some college work, but it didn’t affect the
superior-subordinate relationship.
Then reported to the sales executive and he informed the mistakes I
made a day before in dealing and told me to look after it.
Then again day started with customer interaction and tries to avoid the
mistakes made earlier and made better sales that day which help me to
gain managers appreciation.
It was asked to work some time more after the working hours as I
reached late that day.
And in that extra time, was made aware of other remaining products
such as mobile phones, radios, microwaves, toaster, water purifiers,
etc.
The features of these products were quite easy to learn as were used in
daily routine by most of the people including me.
Discounts and offers on such products were not much as these were
small products and with low prices compared to other like television
and refrigerator.
With this, another day work came to end.
Day 07 Date-13 Feb Day-Wednesday Timing-3 P.M.
After reaching the organization it was noticed that the customer flow
was huge because it is the valentine day`s eve .
So, as soon as reporting to the manager, was asked to indulge in
customers.
Since the customer flow was more of young age, they were full of
product information and which was the convenient part of the day.
But the interaction with this type of people was really interesting as
it gives more experience.
The demand on that day was great for mobile phone as it is the
biggest need for youngsters in today’s modern world. As being a
youngster, it was easy to make a seller buyer relationship which led
to more of customer satisfaction.
The manager also seems to look happy watching customers leaving
happily. The time of four hours on that day didn’t felt and passed
like have spent just an hour dealing in customers.
After having a happy conversation with the manager, I left for the
day.
Day 08 Date-14 Feb Day-Thursday Timing-3 P.M.
A new day started, but reporting was similar as always and being the
valentine day customer flow was high enough.
Dealing with the customers and providing the information was the same
as previous days.
The offers and discounts were more which called for customer flow and
to purchase more products. The offers were somewhat difficult to
understand by the customers as they differ product to product.
Some known faces also came to purchase the products, and they felt
really happy as I helped them through their purchase decision.
And when there were no customers and was free at the point of time,
the sales executive came and said that you have learnt more than
expected by a new intern and did a good job.
This statement made me more confident and then finished my work for
the day.
.Day 09 Date-15 Feb Day-Friday Timing-3 P.M.
Went to report to my manager, was allotted with the after sales service
supervisor.
After sales services are also challenging as we come to know with the
problems faced by the customers.
After sales service, mainly include installation of products like
refrigerators, television, air coolers, washing machine, etc.
Transportation of products at their destination was also the important
part of after sales service department. Also, the after sales service
department handles the problems faced by customers within warranty
period of the product. At Manglam, the time frame of solving the
problems was limited within 48 hours of receiving the complaint.
After sales service department has to look through various problems
and play a key role in image building of the organization as goodwill
of any organization lies in services it provide after or before the
product is sold.
Day 11 Date-17 Feb Day-Sunday Timing-3 P.M.
As usual reporting to manager was necessary, and this day also went
to look after the after sales service department.
But today I was sent to a customer`s home to assist the supervisor of
home installation and see how a manager has to take care of the
product during transit and during installation.
I witnessed a live demo of installation of television which was not as
easy as it seems to be. I was also told to observe and learn for
knowledge purpose.
After the installation was completed, the supervisor did some
paperwork and we left the client`s place.
With this the day came to an end.
Day 12 Date-18 Feb Day-Monday Timing-3 P.M
This day also after reporting to the manager, was assigned in sales as
it needs more and more time.
Today went directly to handle the customer independently and helped
them with their queries and sold them products as per their
specifications and requirements.
With the knowledge and customer engagement the manager and the
sales executive were really delighted. It was informed that I am doing
a good work and should continue doing the same.
Have enjoyed a lot today working independently which boosted my
confidence a lot.
And like that the shift came to end.
Day 15 Date-21 Feb Day-Thursday Timing-3 P.M.
As this was the last working day of the internship, manager greeted with
a lot pleasure and had mixed feelings as not going to work further more
with so nice people but had learned a lot in last 15 days.
That day haven’t worked much as was meeting everyone in the
organization and taking the goodbye from them.
Then went to the sales executive who taught a lot, was really happy with
the effort and I thanked him with my full pleasure as he played key role
in providing the selling skills. But the journey of the internship was
really interesting and it came to an end today.
With this took a leave from the organization wishing everyone a
goodbye, and promised to keep coming to meet everyone.
LEARNINGS
Internship of fifteen days taught a lot of how to put the theoretical
knowledge learnt in classroom into the practical world. This proved very
beneficiary as we get to know about management of business.
The main task we did in our internship was sales and we put our knowledge
in it to convince the customers to purchase products, as sales is the element
for which organisation is set as it generates profit.
With sales we have also learnt activities of different department like of after
sales service, financial department, and human resource department.

These are the common internship challenges that we faced while doing
internship there. But if you really dig into it, they aren’t that grave or
unsolvable. Adjusting into a new place is always difficult, but if you are
patient enough, you can overcome challenges within no time. And after
adjusting their slowly we were able to overcome these challenges and were
able to get familiar with the tasks provided to us.
SUGGESTION
Internship benefits both the student and the employer. Students benefit by
applying their classroom learning in the real world. Employers benefit by
gaining enthusiastic workers – perhaps for an internship, perhaps longer –
along with the satisfaction of launching a career.
Make sure interns work on-site, participate in meetings, and have all
the resources to do their jobs.
