DIPLOMA: Uninterruptible Power Supply

Place: SB Power System, Salem.

This power supply is the most sought after power conditioner to deal with the
power problems. Other devices, including portable generators, stabilizers, isolation
transformers and others have some certain limitations and cannot offer fool proof protection.
Besides evolving as more than a backup during Breakdowns, UPS also undertakes the for
clean power supply.

UG- ECE: MTI (Moving Target Indicator) Simulation Using MATLAB

Place: LRDE Ministry Of Defence, Bangalore.

RADAR is an EM system for the detection and location of reflecting objects

such as aircrafts, ships, etc.,currently two types of radar systems are present they are
continuous wave radar ,pulsed wave radar. The pulsed radar is used for transmitting 3 GHz
microwave frequency(s-band). Pulsed radar acts as transmitter and receiver using duplexer.
Four different radar signals like sinewave, pulsewave, uncompressed AM pulsedwave,
compressed AM pulsed wave are simulated. Then the best signals found using SNR
calculation both at transmitter and receiver. The best signals are compressed AM pulsewave.
Due to the transmission in Gaussian noise present in the atmosphere is added with the
transmitted signal and the SNR at the receiver is reduced also for the signal. The SNR is
increased using ‘MATCHED FILTER’. Also the moving target is found out using
‘MATCHED FILTER’ design and RADAR system is designed for 3GHZ frequency based on
MATLAB programming which is the main advantage of the project.

PG- M.E.Applied Electronics: Efficient Image Compression Using Laplacian

Pyramidal Filter for Edge Images

Place: MD Automations Ltd, Tirupattur.

This project presents a new image compression technique for the coding of images. The
coefficients of the contourlet transform are quantized using adaptive multistage vector quantization
scheme. The number of code vectors in the adaptive vector quantization scheme depends on the
dynamic range of the input image. we propose a new image compression scheme using successive
approximation quantization of the image using Laplacian filter with noise variance of about γ = 0.01
and we have to prove that we preserve the meta information like edges. So we also take edge images
as a data base. Here we may achieve even upto 1:80 compression ratio with PSNR around 30 db.
