Introduction

In the past decade, there has been a dramatic change in the way of consumers of shopping and
availing other services to meet their day to day needs. Although consumers continue to purchase
and avail services from physical stores, they feel it very convenient when everything is
available to them in their fingertips through the magical device called mobile phones.
According to many studies and researches, online shopping is third most popular activity on
the internet after email using and web browsing. This rapid growth of e-retailing is attributed
to the advantages that it offers over conventional bricks-and-mortar stores, including greater
flexibility, enhanced market outreach, lower cost structures, faster transactions, broader product

Problem Definition
Considering the connected and gated communities as the most potential, niche and filtered
target customer segment, most of the business are focusing on grabbing such a market to
increase their businesses and market share by addressing their needs, coming up with various
schemes and market strategies such as by customizing the services they offer so as to fit to the
needs and requirements of the people living in these connecting communities. Giving more
focus and attention to this segment of the market will help business to achieve their market
position but the problem lies in finding a proper source to connect with this market. Creating
a trusted platform helps the businesses can find their true potential customers and also people
from connected communities, where they can find trusted services and businesses, mostly
recommended and preferred by neighbors.

 To create a platform where businesses targeting connected communities can find their
most genuine potential customers.
 To create a platform where people from connected communities can find trusted
vendors who provide at home services, preferred by their neighbors.
 To analyze and bridge the gap between vendors and customers by evaluating what is
offered and what is being required.

Research Methodology

ADDA Discover is a most exclusive platform offered by ADDA to its residents. Discover
is ADDA’s most trusted marketplace, where the apartment residents, registered with ADDA
can find trusted and quality at-home services, mostly preferred by their neighbors and
residents of the same connected community. It is the common platform where residents
from several communities find solutions to their day to day home needs.

The research is mainly of descriptive type, though it includes some quantitative analysis as
well using secondary data which was already collected by the organization using market
research and analyzing the performance of Discover using certain tools such as Mix Panel
and ADDA DNA. The findings of this paper are arrived after referring to the existed
analysis and also according to the responses from different vendors providing services to
the connected communities through Discover and also from the feedback of the residents
availing these services through Discover.

NEED FOR THIS PAPER

There are businesses looking out for a proper platform where they can connect to people
from connected communities, seeing the huge potential to expand their business and market
share. Identifying this gap, ADDA launched its exclusive platform, Discover. The need for
this project is to identify the performance of Discover, expand the services offered, and
improve the quality of services and customer satisfaction.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY


Data used is secondary
Time was a major constraint, as creating and developing such a marketplace identifying the
requirements of the connected communities, the services they are looking for and then
identifying and collaborating with businesses and vendors who are providing those services and
also collaborating with businesses who are looking for an opportunity to connect with
connected communities require time. Also, identifying and bridging the gap with the existing
vendors and customers, coming up with deals that satisfy both vendors and customers was also
a time consuming process.

The analysis and market research was already done by the organization and the final result and
findings were given to me to come up with strategies and ways to expand the project further
making it more stable by adding more services, offers, discounts etc. and as the data is highly
confidential, it was not shared with interns.

Scope of the Project


Chapter 1
Company Profile

ADDA is a Saas product, from the company registered under the name, 3five8 Technologies.
ADDA is a community management software, connecting each owner and Tenant to all the
aspects of a Residential Community, bringing Collaboration, Convenience, Security and
Financial Sustainability.
ADDA provides every tool needed for smooth and efficient running of any Gated Community.
Any Gated Residential Community has 4 main requirements:
 A private social network for facilitating communication between owners, tenants and
association members.
 Facility Management solution for managing property and facilities worth in crores.
 A Billing and Accounting Solution to help management committee send bills, collect
maintenance dues online, have automatic postings done and other accounting modules
for being on top of housing society finance.
 Security Management System to stop/dissuade people with wrong intentions from
entering make information collected at the gate available to residents and management
committee and ensure implementation of effective security processes.
ADDA is the only comprehensive solution which has the capability to successfully fulfil all
these requirements. Thus establishing them as the leader in this space with 3000+ Apartment
Complexes across India being hosted on ADDA platform.
In the hands of Apartment Residents, is placed a single App, through which he/she can do
anything related to his/her apartment complex and individual flat.
For the management committee/society manager is a robust SaaS accounting & management
portal. They are also equipped with the ADDA Admin App, for getting many management
tasks done on the go.

The Genesis:
This unique platform was incepted in 2009 by Sangeeta (San) Banerjee and Venkat
Kandaswamy and has its headquarters in Bangalore, India.
The inspiration for ADDA came when they experienced first-hand, being a part of their own
apartment complex’s management committee, the problems faced in managing an Apartment
Complex: supervising the management of crores of property, lakhs of finance, owner’s queries
and multiple enterprise vendors.
Apartment buildings are usually managed by an association called management committee
(MCs) formed by certain residents who volunteer their time amidst busy career and family
demands for such activities.
MCs in 2009, used multiple excel sheets, Google/Yahoo groups, offline registers, offline
software and other ad hoc solutions for managing apartment complexes, thus spending a lot of
time and effort, yet ending up not able to manage their complex efficiently. When San & Venkat
saw that there were no comprehensive solutions available both in and outside India to help
MCs, they started developing ADDA, positioned to be the one stop solution for all needs of an
Apartment Resident.
ADDA, has evolved significantly over the last 10+ years. From being a private social network
and helpdesk for gated communities, the company has now progressed into a platform that
caters to all requirements needed for running any residential complex.

The product model:


The company works on a SaaS model. Its core is the centralized database of every aspect of an
apartment complex – Flats, residents, vehicles, accounts, staff, assets, vendors, etc. Multiple
features revolve around these databases.
The front end is a simple App in the hands of the residents.
Different packages are available based on different specific requirements of an apartment
complex.

sample hypothesis testing" as used in the field of statistics. A/B testing is a way to compare two
versions of a single variable, typically by testing a subject's response to variant A against variant
B, and determining which of the two variants is more effective.[3]

User Engagement

Customer/User engagement is a business communication connection between an


external stakeholder (consumer) and an organization (company or brand) through various
channels of correspondence. This connection can be a reaction, interaction, effect or
overall customer experience, which takes place online and offline.[1][2] The term can also be used
to define customer-to-customer correspondence regarding a communication, product, service or
brand. However, the latter dissemination originates from a business-to-consumer interaction
resonated at a subconscious level.
Online customer engagement is qualitatively different from offline engagement as the nature of
the customer’s interactions with a brand, company and other customers differ on the internet.
Discussion forums or blogs, for example, are spaces where people can communicate and socialise
in ways that cannot be replicated by any offline interactive medium. Online customer engagement
is a social phenomenon that became mainstream with the wide adoption of the internet in the late
1990s, which has expanded the technical developments in broadband speed, connectivity and
social media. These factors enable customer behaviour to regularly engage in online communities
revolving, directly or indirectly, around product categories and other consumption topics. This
