CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Police are the people or the department of people who

enforce laws, investigate crimes, and make arrest in order to

control something by making sure that rules and regulations are

being followed (Webster, 2017).

The Philippine National Police concurrent with its mission

to enforce the law, prevent and control crimes, maintain peace

and order, and ensure public safety, have undergone a lot of

physical training in order to do their responsibilities. Physical

fitness is both an individual and organizational responsibility

and every PNP personnel should be physically fit to perform

strenuous and rigorous police duties (Sindac,2017).

The police engage in calisthenics and other sports training

program for its personnel to enhance their physical fitness. It

was observed that most of the policemen are not observing a

physically fit body, and some are considered obese (Sindac,

2017).

Thus, this study discusses the level of physical fitness

training and the job performance of the Philippine National

Police. Furthermore, the coverage of the problem is focused on

knowing the different physical fitness training, determine the

level of the trainings, and the factors affecting their body.

This study also shows how physical fitness training can

contribute to their job performance.

In addition, researchers come up with this problem to

provide necessary information and promote awareness not only for

Philippine National Police but also to different institution of

the society.

The researchers fine this necessary because they wanted to know

how physical fitness can affect the job performance of the

Philippine National Police. This study will help the policemen be

aware, and give importance to physical fitness training, in order

for them to perform strenuous and rigorous duty.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The purpose of his study is to determine the level of

physical fitness training and job performance of Philippine

National Police of municipality of Binalbagan. Specifically, it

aims to answer the following questions:

1. What is the level of physical fitness training of the

Philippine National Police of the Municipality of

Binalbagan when taken as a whole and when grouped

according to the following variables:

A. Sex

B. Age

2. What is the level of the job performance of the

Philippine National Police of the Municipality of

Binalbagan when they are taken as a whole and when

grouped according to aforementioned variables?

3. Is there a significant difference on the level of

physical fitness of the Philippine National Police of the

Municipality of Binalbagan when taken as a whole and

grouped according to sex and age?

4. Is there a significant difference on the level of job

performance of the Philippine National Police of the

Municipality of Binalbagan when taken as a whole and

grouped according to aforementioned variables?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the physical

fitness and job performance of the Philippine National

Police of the Municipality of Binalbagan?

STATEMENT OF THE HYPOTHESIS

The purpose of providing definite direction for this study,

the following hypotheses are formulated:

1. There is no significant difference on the level of physical

fitness training of the Philippine National Police of

Municipality of Binalbagan when taken individually and when

grouped according to sex and age.

2. There is no significant relationship between the physical

fitness and the job performance of the Philippine National

Police of Municipality of Binalbagan.

Abstract
Proposes a theory of motivation and emotion in which causal

ascriptions play a key role. Evidence is presented indicating

that in achievement-related contexts there are a few dominant

causal perceptions, and it is suggested that the perceived

causes of success and failure share the 3 common properties of

locus, stability, and controllability, with intentionality and

globality as other possible causal structures. The perceived

stability of causes influences changes in expectancy of

success; all 3 dimensions of causality affect a variety of

common emotional experiences, including anger, gratitude,

guilt, hopelessness, pity, pride, and shame. Expectancy and

affect, in turn, are presumed to guide motivated behavior. The

theory therefore relates the structure of thinking to the

dynamics of feeling and action. Analysis of a created

motivational episode involving achievement strivings is

offered, and numerous empirical observations are examined from

this theoretical position. The strength of the empirical

evidence and the capability of this theory to address

prevalent human emotions are stressed, and examples of

research on parole decisions, smoking cessation, and helping

behavior are presented to illustrate the generalizability of

the theory beyond the achievement-related theoretical focus.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

This study is concerned on level of physical fitness

training and job performance of Philippine National Police of the

Municipality of Binalbagan. The variables under consideration are

sex and age. The data used are those that are generated from the

adapt instrument ( ) which was surveyed. This

investigation attempted to determine the level of physical

fitness training and job performance of Municipality of

Binalbagan. The study used 48 police officers police officers as

the total population of the study.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The result of this investigation maybe found to be

very important to the following people:

Philippine National Police. The result of the study will help the

Philippine National Police to develop more their physical fitness

in order for them to attain the rendition of a good service and

performance in the country.

Municipality of Binalbagan. The result of the study will benefit

the Municipality of Binalbagan to become aware on how Philippine

National Police perform their duties in maintaining the peace and

order in their community.

Future researcher. The study intended to help researcher to

become knowledgeable enough about how physical fitness training

can contribute to the job performance of the Philippines national

police. The result of the study may help the researcher to gather

evidence and to inform others how Philippine national police

undergo physical fitness training in order to maintain he peace

and order as well as the safety of our country.

Mapeh students this study will inform mapeh students and help

them realize physical education is important that even in some

other fields, physical fitness training is indeed necessary.

Definition of terms

To facilitate better understanding of the study the following

terms, arrange alphabetically, are defined conceptually and

operationally:
This study use correlational type of research to explain that

this study tends to collect data in the field at the sight of the

respondent. It aims to gather data or information about the

phenomenon concerning the level of physical fitness and job

performance of Philippine national police in the municipality of

binalbagan.

Singh (2013) explains that a descriptive-correlational study is

designed primarily to describe what is going on or what exist and

measure the relationship of two or more variables. Moreover, this

simply describe two events that are correlated with each other.
