Scheme of Evaluation & Passing Criteria

To qualify in examination a student must obtain the following Marks: -


– Minimum 30% marks in External Assessment (End Term Examination – ETE)
– Minimum 30% marks in Internal Assessment.
– In case of PG programmes, Minimum 40% overall aggregate i.e. both
Internal Assessment & External Assessment put together.
- In case of UG Programmes, Minimum 35% overall aggregate i.e. both Internal
Assessment & External Assessment put together.
However,
To qualify in a semester, a student must obtain
In case of PG Programmes. – minimum 5.0 Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)
In case of UG Programmes. minimum4.5 Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)

To qualify in the programme, a student must obtain


In case of PG Programmes-minimum 6.0 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA)
In case of UG Programmes- minimum 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average

How to Calculate SGPA/CGPA


Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)- The semester performance of the student is
indicating as “Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)” at the end of every semester. SGPA is
the weighted of Grades Points of all letter grades secured by the student for all the course
units in the Semester. The formula for Computing SGPA is as under
SGPA =U1G1 + U2G2 + U3G3 +.... where U1, U2, U3. denotes credits associated with
U1 + U2 +U3…. the courses taken by the students and G1, G2, G3… are
the Grade Points of the letter grades awarded In the
respective courses.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) – The CGPA is used to describe overall
performance in all courses in letter grades which a student has obtained. It is weighted
average of grade points obtained by him/her in all the semesters

CGPA = Cumulative Grade Points Secured in all passed courses

For PG Students
In percentage term, all students are required to obtain minimum 55% to 60% marks
in every semester to avoid any inconvenience to get less than minimum required
“6.00” CGPA at the end of final semester Exam.

If students fail to maintain the above-mentioned passing criteria, he/she need to


reappear again in Exam/ Resubmit the assignments of some of papers to improve
the SGPA & overall CGPA for successful completion of the programme.

For UG students
In percentage term, all students are required to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in
every semester to avoid any inconvenience to get less than minimum required
“5.00” CGPA in the end of final Semester Exam.

If students fail to maintain the above-mentioned passing criteria, he/she need


to reappear again in Exam/ Resubmit the assignments of some of papers to improve
the SGPA & overall CGPA for successful completion of the programme.
