ESSAY WRITING CONTEST MECHANICS

YOUTH & ADULT

1. Local churches can submit a maximum of 5 entries per category.

2. Categories are the following:
a. English - Junior Youth
b. English - Senior Youth
c. English - Adult
d. Filipino - Junior Youth
e. Filipino - Senior Youth
f. Filipino- Adult

3. The contestants must bring their own black pen. The contest in-charge will provide the writing sheets.
4. The contestants will not be allowed to write their name, local church, or any identifying mark on their paper.
5. The essay should have 300-500 words.
6. Time limit will be announced during the contest.
7. Criteria for Judging:
Content (Relevance of topic, accuracy of data) 35%
Organization (Unity of thought, flow of discussion) 35%
Style (Originality, Creativity) 20%
Mechanics (Grammar, Punctuation) 10%
TOTAL 100%

9. There will be three (3) winners for each category.

10. All contestants must be registered and must present a contest pass to the contest in-charge.
11. All contest mechanics can be downloaded at the church website – www.pmcc4w.org
12. Deadline for Submission of Entries (Youth and Adult) on or before March 27, 2018
(Ministers Meeting). Entry Fee per Local Church is P500. Entry Fee after March 27 is P1,000

13. List of participants must be submitted/emailed to the Overall Contest In-charge, Ptr. Gemma, Villanueva at
villgem@yahoo. com following this format:

14. Schedule and venue of the contest will be posted at the lobby on the 1st day of Camp.
15. Those who won the 1st place will not be allowed to join the same contest and/or category.
16. Winners will be posted at the lobby on Friday morning of the camp.
17. Awardees must be in proper attire. No pants, no short skirts or dress are allowed.
