IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Let the students recall the previous topic The Pangkat Kawayan Instruments.
Presenting New Lessons Students will identify the picture of instruments posted on the board by putting
metacard in each picture.
B. Establishing A Purpose For The The teacher will let the students watch a video presentation about the Himig
Lesson Pangkat Kawayan, and afterwards will ask the following questions:

What can you say about the video clips?


C. Presenting Examples / The teacher will play a news video presentation about the Bamboo organ and
Instances of the New Lesson Angklung ensemble.
D. Discussing New Concepts and The teacher will discuss what is Bamboo Organ and Angklung Ensemble while
Practicing New Skills # 1 showing videos for each ensemble then let the students analyze their tone color
through listening.

Bamboo Organ
 As the Philippine National Treasure, the Bamboo Organ can be found
in St. Joseph’s Church, Las Pinas City.
 It is made of 902 bamboo pipes completed in 1824 under the
supervision of Fr. Diego Cera
 Every February, the city celebrates the International Bamboo Organ
Festival. A number of established foreign and local artist participate in
the cultural event. It aims to pursue and develop the rich cultural
tradition of Las Pinas City.

Angklung Ensemble
 A small group of musicians who plays angklung bamboo instruments
 Made of bamboo-rattle tubes attached to a bamboo frame
 Manner of playing the angklung is by rapidly shaking the bottom part
of the frame while the other hand steadily holds the upper part of the
instrument
 Angklung shaker plays only one two pitches
 Commonly accompanied by double bass, guitars and percussion
instruments
 Angklung has more than two and half octaves, or around 30 pitches
 Can also be part of the other ensemble like the pangkat kawayan.
