Group Discussion

Learning Outcome: The idea here is that students are able to deploy brainstorming process
to discuss the given topic. They are able to participate and at the same time conclude the
topic.

Time Duration: 40 mins

Group size: Divide the students into groups of 8-10 each.

Resources: None

Brief:

 Ask one group to participate and allot a topic to prepare from the below mentioned
list.
 Each group will be given 2 minutes to prepare the given topic.
 Once the preparation time is over, the trainer asks the group to start the GD.
 Each discussion will last for 10 minutes and if a group tries to conclude within 5
minutes then the trainer will ask them to continue.
 Conclusion of every group discussion is required otherwise the whole group will be
considered disqualified.
 Given below are three categories and trainer will cover one topic from each category
in an hour.
 The trainer will prepare one topic from each category before going to the class.
 The activity will be repeated with all the groups using different topics from the list
mentioned.

Debrief: Once a group is done with the conclusion, the trainer will give feedback on the basis
of the parameters mentioned in the IP. This will help the students to have a self-analysis and
they will be able to prepare better.
