Greetings of peace and goodwill!

With the passage of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 or Republic Act 10533, the DepEd was tasked to
implement the K to 12 Program, essentially adding two (2) years of specialization within the Basic Educational System
with the major objective of ensuring that graduates of basic education are ready for employment, entrepreneurship
and higher learning. In response to this challenge, Marayag NHS offered the TVL- Automotive Track. But based on
the record of the number of registered enrollees since the program was started, the said school experienced the
decreased of students. In this regard, we aspire to offer an additional offering which is the Academic strand particularly
General Academic strand with Bread and Pastry as an elective, for we believe that these combination of strand are the
main economic drivers in our community and the in-demand track that will address the will of our junior high school
products in continuing to college right after they will be graduated in high school.

Hopefully, with the implementation of these curricular programs for School Year 2020- 2021, we will be able to give
solution to issues needing immediate resolution. On the case of our TVL-Automotive Servicing Offering, we will be
able to address female students’ apprehension particularly on the connotation that Automotive servicing is for male
students only. On the other hand, basing on the latest Senior High School Early Registration results, we found out that
a lot of our current grade 10 students, most especially female students, are wanting to take the GAS Strand into other
schools from our neighboring barangays or even in the nearest city to us. We are also hoping that offering the said
strand will help those students who are planning to transfer to other school for them todecide to stay in our school in
order to help their parents’ financial issues. It is of the fact that if they will go to other school, honestly their parents
need additional fund for their boarding house and other basic needs which will be saved if they will have lived together
while studying. We saw these as a wake-up call to offer additional strand to cater the needs of our students specially
the parents who are less privileged in the locality.

It is on this connection that we would like to express our intention to offer the additional strands coming School Year
2020-2021: The Academics Track – GAS (Bread and Pastry), to address the demands of our students, our locality
and most specially to address our female students’ apprehensions in the TVL- Automotive Servicing offering. We
believe that given the chance for the implementation of these additional strand, Marayag NHS will be able to manifest
the VISION of the Department, thus we thank you in advance.
