1. 2.
_____ ____ ______ _____
C. Unlocking of Difficulties (Teacher uses synonyms, real object, pictures, cut-outs)
1. as many as
A. Motivation
Show an illustration of 2 boys.
This is Loy. This is Roy.
He has 3 lollipops. He has 3 lollipops, too.
• What do you see in the picture? (There are two boys with lollipops.)
• How many lollipops does each boy have? (Each boy has 3 lollipops.)
IV. Introduction
Say: Today, we will learn on how to compare two sets using the expression “as many
as”.
V. Teaching Modeling
• Represent Loy’s and Roy’s Lollipop using real objects, cut-outs, pictures and call
each Set A and Set B, respectively.
Set A Set B
Ask a pupil to show the one-to-one relationship between the number of lollipops in
Set A and the number of lollipops in Set B.
Lollipops of Loy Lollipops of Roy
Set A ____________ Set B (as many as)
• “As many as” is used to express the relationship between two sets having the
same number of objects. Let the pupils say the relationship between the
numbers of objects in Sets A and B using the expression “as many as”.
A. Generalization
Ask: When we compare two sets of the same number of objects, what expression
do we use?
“as many as”

Activity Sheet
(Competitive Game)
Instruction/s: Your group will perform the Let’s Do This below in 3 minutes.
Let’s Do This: (Teacher uses MTB in giving the instructions and acts as facilitator when doing the
activity.)
1. Use the materials the teacher gives to your group.
2. Leader reads the instructions to the group members and performs the activity with
the group.
3. The group members count the number of objects of the two sets and tell if the
objects of the two sets are equal in number or not.
4. Recorder writes the given answer of the members on the blank the expression “as
many as” for the two sets with the same number of objects and “ x ” for the sets with
unequal number of objects. Pastes the group output on the Manila paper after
answering.
5. Leader stands immediately in place when the group is done.
6. Group members post the group’s output on the board/wall.
7. Reporter reports the group’s output to the whole class.
8. Teacher checks the group’s output.
9. The group with the greatest number of correct answers wins the game.
Example:
1. as many as

is __________
Buhaton: Isulat ang “as many as” sa blangko kung ang duha ka grupo pareha kadaghana
