2019/2020 REGULAR PROGRAMME
1. I write to offer you admission into the BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURE programme of the College of
Basic And Applied Sciences, University of Ghana to pursue a four-year FULL-TIME course of study leading to the
award of the Bachelor of Science Degree. This is based on information you submitted on application.
2. Beginning from Level 200, you may opt for any one of the following programmes leading to the award of a Bachelor of
Science Degree in: Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Animal Science, Crop Science,
Soil Science, or Post-Harvest Technology. This would be based on your performance at Level 100.
3. The University of Ghana reserves the right to revoke this offer of admission in the event that any discrepancies are
detected in the statements you made in your application.
4. Your Student Identification Number (ID) is 10811743. This is the number that you will use throughout your studies in
this University. Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is 61057 and your University of Ghana e-mail address is
pbbasakeng@st.ug.edu.gh. Your temporary UG e-mail password is Ug?10811743. Information on how to activate your
UG e-mail will be available on the University of Ghana website.
5. The fee for the BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURE for the 2019/2020 academic year is GHS2,169.00.
Information on payment of fees is on the Application Summary Page and also available on the University’s website (
https://www.ug.edu.gh/freshers). Your ID number should be quoted on the pay-in-slip.
6. The University itself does not offer financial assistance to students. However, financial assistance is available to students
who need it from the Students’ Loan Trust Fund (SLTF). To initiate the process of applying for the Students’ Loan, contact
the Students Loan Trust Fund on www.sltf.gov.gh or 0302 231886/7 and 0264 043072. You can also visit any of their 14
Zonal offices across the country for assistance.
7. Registration will be online via the University website https://www.ug.edu.gh. You will need your Student Number and
PIN stated above to gain access to the University's online registration system. You will be allowed to register only if you
have paid your fees.
8. Guidelines on how to register for courses are available on the University’s website. Students are expected to report from
Monday August 26, 2019 to Saturday September 1, 2019 . Teaching will begin on Monday September 2, 2019.
9. The University requires that you are declared medically fit by its Director of Medical Services. In this regard, you will be
medically examined at the University Hospital soon after the beginning of the First Semester. Note that you will be
expected to pay for the chest X-ray at the University Hospital.
10. Fresh students are required to participate in a compulsory programme of orientation from Wednesday August 28,
2019 to Saturday August 31, 2019. Details of this programme will be made available on the University’s website.
11. Should you decide to withdraw from the University on or before September 20, 2019 the University shall refund your fees
to you less 30% of the total fees payable, which will be retained as administrative charges. Beyond this date, NO REFUND
shall be made.

4. Always ensure the STUDENT INDEX NUMBER and NAMES are correctly quoted.
5. Always ensure the AMOUNT quoted on the receipt is the correct amount paid.
