ELIMINATES TOENAILING

• Allows for natural material flow without

creating damaging toenailing
• Prevents crushing of the track pad
due to material loss
• Prevents dangerous ‘fly metal’
created by toenail interference

INCREASED ROLL PATH SURFACE AREA

The Excel Wide Path is designed to be wider than the conventional system, which
increases surface area in the roll path. The Wide Path components do not require
modifications to the existing side frames.

WIDER ROLL PATH

NOTE: Conventional design profile is simplified to highlight the difference in width

INCREASED ROLL PATH SURFACE AREA

• Improves overall weight distribution Excel Wide Path™

onto track pads LARGER

SURFACE AREA
• Produces less direct stress on the
track pads
• Reduces wear on track pads, lower
rollers, rear idler, drive tumbler, and
side frame guide rails
• Significant improvement in lifespan

Conventional track pad

METALLURGICAL SUPERIORITY

• High-quality, austenitic manganese steel allows

the material to work-harden as it wears
• Wide Path systems are proving to last far
longer than the current undercarriages on the
market today

HEAVIER TRACK PAD DESIGN
THICKER INTERNAL STRUCTURES STRENGTHEN CRITICAL AREA

Excel Wide Path™

• Robust internal support in a

critical area of the roll path
• Avoids crushing of the track
pad in the roll path area

Conventional track pad

MINIMIZES TRACK PAD BACKBENDING
REDUCES PIN STRESS AND CAR BODY INTERFERENCE

• Less stress on pins

and pin eyes
• Greatly reduces the likelihood
of car body interference

ENHANCED ROLL PATH SURFACE

• Improved wear rib design in

the roll path
• Manganese steel work
hardens before it can flow off
the end of the roll path

ELIMINATES TOENAIL TRIMMING

The superior design of the Wide Path

Undercarriage System means our material will not
extend so far off the roll path to impinge track pad
articulation or create propel or safety issues.

ELIMINATES TOENAIL TRIMMING

Toenails are commonly trimmed to

allow clearance between the track
pads. This removes vital material
and further weakens the roll path.

LONGER REPLACEMENT CYCLE
SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS

• Robust, smart design

• Extends component lifespan
• Requires replacement far less often than the
conventional design
• Significantly reduces costs associated with
component replacement and lost revenue due
to downtime
