ABSTRACT

The purpose of present project is, modern mining industry is highly mechanized
and relies on massive, multimillion dollar pieces of equipment to achieve
production targets.

Diesel powered shovels are used to surface metal and non metal overburden
removal and ore loading it either on a dumper or railway wagon or over the soil
dump. Many different sizes shovels may be used depending upon the type of
operation and maintenance of diesel powered shovels. In thismethodology includes
operation of a shovel i.e.; bucket hoist mechanism, swing mechanism and propel
mechanism. A dozer is used to push large quantities of soil, sand, rubble and other
materials during construction. A grader is a construction machine with a long blade
used to create a flat surface during the grading process. A dumper is used for
transporting loose materials (such as gravel, sand, = or demolition waste) for
construction. Maintenance includes different types of maintenance which is carried
out in an industry.

As a result the focus of all mining operations is to increase equipment uptime and
utilization.

The whole project is carried out on OPENCAST MACHINERY available at

SCCL OCP-2 Ramagundam-3 Area.
