Narrative Report Philippines Journalist

PJI or Philippine Journalist INC. consist of 3 department which are People’s Tonight, People’s
Journal, and Women’s Journal. As we apply for our internship for the PJI we were acquired under the
department of advertising which was headed by Ms. Vivien Motomal. We start our internship, March 4
Monday, and Ms. Bing which was the secretary of is Ms. Vam taught us of what is happening and what
will be our job as part of the ad department. And as for our first job we made phone calls, follow up some
possible clients that will be willing to make an ad to the women’s journal for April issue. Because that
month the women’s journal will be celebrating the women’s month as a special issue and also to celebrate
their 47 year anniversary as one of the oldest printing in the Philippine. We also proof read some article
that will be published the next day. Ms. Vam also let us experience to interview some of their clients and
made articles about them and also we interviewed a possible reader of their journal to give feedbacks for
their April issue. And luckily we attended an event that the magazine will be featuring on the next issue.

Ms. Vam made us experience what was really happening in the print industry that school never taught us.
They open our eyes that it is very difficult to compete nowadays because people refer the social media
which can be access anywhere and anytime rather than print. They also admit that yes their industry is
slowly losing their foundation to compete with the new media and it’s sad to hear from one of the oldest
printing company here in the Philippines. But we are very lucky to be part of the PJI, to experience the
environment that their part of for 47 years. They might be gone in the near future but the memories and
the lesson of the print that they taught us will never fade in me. I’m still hoping that people will start to
enjoy again to ready newspaper rather than scroll in there smart phone.

Accomplishment Report

As of March 4 we start our internship at PJI or Philippine Journalist Inc. and as for our first week,
we made phone calls, we distribute newspaper daily, we proof read some articles that will be published
the next day for their newspaper. And as for our 2nd week of our internship we interviewed a possible
reader that will give feedback to their April issue and interview a client (president of the senior citizen
party list) for the write up that will be on the magazine(April issue) to advertise himself for the upcoming
election this may. And as for our last week in the PJI, we attend 2 event that will be feature in the May
issue of their magazine, the first event was the SM Fashion show that took part on the SM megamall and
the 2nd were the event of TANG in Glorietta last Wednesday march 27, 2019.
