REFLECTION PAPER
“The Rise of ISIS”
The group terrorist ISIS or the “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” is the main
problem of every nation in the world right now. ISIS or ISIL is the most extreme
manifestation of a Muslim response to the history of the past few centuries. ISIS is not
only a terrorist organization, but an Islamic extremist political entity which has not been
widely recognized by the international society. In terms of definition, the organization
refers to a group of people who work together in a structured way for a shared purpose;
however, the state must have the territory, population and state apparatus.
They did a massive attack in Iraq and Syria that results in many casualties. They
also did beheading in those who they caught on their attack. They want to make a
caliphate that will rule the large part of Muslims territory in Syria. What they want to do
is to continue the promise of their first leader to spread what they are doing, beliefs and
their religion in wrong a way.
This type of way they fight for their religion is not tolerated by any leaders.
Nations leaders must help each others to stop this kind of doing. Not only one or two
countries make a way to stop ISIS for what they’re doing, it could stop if they make a
step together with all nations in the world not only those affected countries but the other
countries must share what they have to stop it.

Function of Global Cities in Globalization

The phenomenon of globalization is changing our world. The global process of
growing together leads to the creation of a new cosmopolitan culture. Within that
process of mutual influence, the importance of cities is everything but declining. They
are meeting places, communication nodes and sites of exchange as well as locations,
where global processes become particularly visible and influential.
"Global cities" are and always have been both – produced by globalization and
producers of globalization. They play an important role in shaping a global economy,
culture and society, but they are also shaped by it. And they are places, where
countervailing forces match, where local reactions to globalization become especially
visible. Consequently, also adverse effects of globalization and backlashes to it are
particularly apparent there.
