Job Title: Specialist Petrophysicist (Studies)

Job Purpose:

• Designate as specialist in the area petrophysics (Formation evaluation from logs). Provide
guidelines and directions to all assets on potential areas for logging program, acquisition, QC
and interpretation. Defines and updates workflows, methodologies and procedures for any
logging issues. Provide technical support, advisory and training to all staff. Act as technical
authority in domain of Logs Petrophysics.

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Represents technical authority for all Formation evaluation from logs matters within company.

• Defines standards for logs QC and interpretation in the assets.

• Supports assets in determining logging program.

• Identifies logs interpretation and QC challenges across all assets and implements new
technologies and workflows.

• Captures logs interpretation and QC related lessons learned / best practices and ensures their
communication across assets.

• Participates directly and indirectly in technical staff development (training, coaching, career
development.

• Understands and promotes the company’s health, safety & environmental policy and objectives;
performs work in accordance with the company’s established rules, regulations and approved
procedures; intervenes to stop unsafe acts and practices; and is concerned for the wellbeing and
safety of own self and others, including all contracted labor force.

• Plan and conduct meetings / workshops with assets to ensure they receive the necessary
technical support and advice on Petrophysics (Formation evaluation from logs) initiatives.

• Participate in the identification of technical challenges. Evaluate new technologies, tools or


techniques and decide on their suitability to address these challenges.

• Coordinates with shareholders and other OPCOs on relevant logs interpretation and QC
proposals to ensure best practices are captured.

• Regular contacts with Logging Team for tendering, contracts and logging programs issues

• Technical mentor to other Petrophysicist staff and fresh graduates.

• Develops and maintains a track record of own achievements against objectives.


• Maintains close cooperation and coordination with all disciplines in TC.

• Coordinate with asset teams, functions and other Technical Centres on Production Optimization
matters.

• Maintain contacts with external institutions (Universities, Industry Organizations, and


Shareholders etc.).

• Captures lessons learned and best practices to develop standards, processes and other
documentations.

• Initiates and participates in benchmarking of technologies and processes.

• Organizes and contributes to internal and external knowledge sharing initiatives.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• B.Sc. / Master Degree in petro-technical discipline, advanced degree is preferable.

• 15 years in petro-technical discipline (Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering,


Geoscience), of which 5 years in a specialist role. International experience is preferable.

• Track record in maturing and applying new technologies and participation in R& D projects.

Technical Competencies
• Responsible for independent study and production of accurate data for appraisal and field
development. Accountable for providingsedimentology and rock typing expertise to assigned
Team aiming at discovery/development of new reserves as the primary objectives
• Keeps abreast of related development within the oil production industry Includes:
• Attending and representing in conferences, seminars and society meetings to Identify new
developments in the industry of interest of the Company.
• Prepares reports/papers on such functions and circulates to supervisor and team members.
