RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

2.1 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The methodology of the research is qualitative and derived data from the
study and as well on internet website research which are provisions to the hypothesis were
derived from the books, articles, news, government documents, and other domestic airport
terminal facilities proposal.

The researcher can’t understand waray language and his father is from Leyte, The researcher
visited Tacloban with his father in city hall, architect’s office, city engineer office, city
planning development office, assessor office, LRA to gather data, advices, interview for the
information needed for thesis proposal, The researcher also went to CAAP and DOTR near
DZR airport to gather data and interview about the their plan for development for Tacloban
airport.

2.2.1 INTRODUCTION
It is important to make a selection of a proper research method when starting
a scientific investigation. The selected methodology depends directly on the character of the
study, as well as the purpose of the study and time constraint. The choice of methodology is a
complicated problem since it determines the complete study.

2.2.1 DATA GATHERING

This study is predominant descriptive- qualitative. Information and data rely on the
objectives of agencies and organizations as means collecting as means of collecting data to
successfully obtain the desired outcome of this architectural thesis, presented systematically
are the different processes.
Site development
The researcher makes an observation while on the plane thru the site, observing the
surroundings of the airport, the researcher also used the google map to observe.
Building development
The researcher inspects the current condition of the terminal building. And analyze the
facility problems.

The researcher interview and gather information thru the staffs in the offices in the Tacloban
city

The researcher method, first is the internet as starting of research of the study, the researcher
uses most the internet to gather data, received data from the, recommended site by the
agencies in different offices.

2.3 DATA ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY

2.3.1 CONCEPTUALIZE OF THE PROJECT

The method of conceptualizing in this project was based on the history, architectural
style, popular topics in that region.

2.4 CASE STUDY RESEARCH ANALYSIS

The researcher observed and analysis multiple existing domestic airport or the
same ideas that related and relevant to given proposal. The proposed project used existing
floor plans and other architectural drawings of related topics.
