Working with RTFX pack

You can use this pack in 3 ways:

I. Using After Effects project file:

The structure of the project:
1) Animations folder – here all the animations are stored.

Their names contain tag words that indicate the animation type to find them quick. For example,
enter key words “fireball” in a search field to search all FX-animations have the “fireball” tag.

In FX-animations you can modify such options as Color, Glow or Blur. For example, to change the
color of animation, choose the layer called «Control» and set the required value for Color Control on the
Effect Controls panel(if you don’t see this panel check Window/Effects Controls).
By default, most animations have a resolution of 1000x1000 to optimize the speed of project
operation, but you can set any desired value. The frame frequency is 24 (and 30 for some
FX-animations).

FX-animations in the project are divided into:

a) hand-drawn animations
b) Transition – the successive animation from one frame to another(also hand-drawn).
The basic resolution for this effect is 1920x1080, and 24FPS.
c) Mix – generated combinations of FX-animation.

2) Gallery contains a preview of all elements in the project. Double click the composition in the
folder and the animations will be displayed in the Timeline. Hit "Space" to render the preview. Then
select the desired animation and double click to open it.
3) Assets* - this folder contains animations without post-editing, which can be used as parts for
finished FX-animations.

4) Solid and Source – folders with project files that should not be changed.

It works pretty easy:

- Open RTFX pack (CS5.5).aep
- Create a new composition(Ctrl+N)
- Just select the animation in a project panel and move to timeline.
- Add to Render Queue(press Ctrl+Shift+/ ) > Select render setting > Render.
That’s it.

II. Using RTFX Generator script and AE-project:

You can generate previews for your animation packs. Also It gives you the mix FX-animations
possibility as well as quickly exporting them as sprite sheets or sequences and importing them in the
your game easily. The script allows working with any type of animations. All the details you can find in
“Principles of working with RTFX Generator" video.

III. Using any editing or compositing apps:

You won’t have to install the program Аfter Еffects; you can simply use 440 pre-rendered FX
animations in any handy program for editing or compositing. Open «Pre-rendered animations» folder,
import FX-animations, open your project, and start using with your the app immediately.
