How to make a Scholarship Curriculum Vitae

Before you start writing your own, here are 3 rules to prevent you from making a BAD CV :(

1. Don’t put too much “Glitters”

Remember, you are going to provide ONLY information about yourself. Just don’t waste your
time impressing them with fancy and colorful contents. Stick to the plan!
2. Be selective on putting the information
Most of the scholarship hunters think that putting much information could make them the most
outstanding one. Just don’t!! Providing the latest yet related information to your study
background will make your CV become more appealing. Limit your CV to 2 pages at maximum.
3. Be honest
Yes, be honest about your CV. Why…? Because even if you could pass the administration process,
you will eventually get caught lying in your CV. So, be a good hunter.

Now let’s start writing a “Champion’s CV”. There were hundreds of curriculum vitae concept out there,
but you are most welcome to build your own Curriculum Vitae using the following concept.

 PERSONAL INFORMATION
Your personal information is the first thing the reviewers would like to see. In this part you need
to provide the information such as full name, current address, phone number, email, and
LinkedIn (optional).

 PROFILE
In this part, you can provide a brief description of you in general, your self-quality, your
individual skill, etc. So be creative in obtaining their attention. You may use first person point of
view or third person point of view, pick one!
 EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Educational background is a must in any CV, as one center of attentions for the reviewer. You do
not need to put all of your schools, but only the latest two for example. You could also divide
this into two parts, Formal and Non-Formal Education. In Non-formal education, you will have to
provide the information such as trainings, language courses, and so on. Yet remember, write
them from the newest to the oldest.

 WORK EXPERIENCE
For those who poses work experience, you may put it into your CV and write them from the
newest one. Provide a brief yet clear explanation on what is your position and its responsibility,
the work that in line with your study background will be more interesting to the reviewer. For
those who have no experience in a professional work, do not worry, you may just skip this part.
 ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE
If you have experience, provide explanation about your roles and responsibilities in the
organization. Especially for you with few to none working experience, you must exploit this part
to highlight your personal and professional skills! Write them from the newest to the oldest.

 PROJECTS AND PUBLICATION

This part is noteworthy to highlight your academic skills such as projects, research, and
publications. This is a significant boost to your CV. Especially for some of you pursuing PhD level,
this is crucial part for your supervisor and scholarship reviewer to see your capability and
expertise in the chosen field.
 AWARDS
If you have won any competitions, scholarships, fellowships, workshops, you need to list them
to grab attentions, especially those related to your specialized field. Order from the newest one.

 LANGUAGE
Write down the list of languages that you master, along with your mastery level.

Ini adalah hal wajib di CV, sebagai salah satu pusat perhatian reviewer. Kamu tidak perlu
menuliskan semua informasi sekolahmu, cukup hanya dua jenjang pendidikan terakhir. Kamu
juga bisa membaginya menjadi dua bagian, Formal dan Non-Formal Education. Pada bagian
Non-Formal Education, kamu bisa memasukkan informasi seperti training, kursus bahasa, dan
sejenisnya. Yang harus diingat, tuliskan dari urutan yang terbaru ke yang paling lama.

 WORK EXPERIENCE
Untuk kamu yang sudah pernah bekerja, tuliskan ke dalam CV kamu urut dari pengalaman kerja
terbaru. Berikan penjelasan singkat mengenai posisi dan tanggung jawab kamu. Pekerjaan yang
sejalan dengan bidang studi kamu akan terlihat lebih menarik untuk reviewer. Tapi untuk kamu
yang belum memiliki pengalaman, jangan khawatir, kamu boleh melewatkan bagian ini.
 ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Jika kamu berpengalaman, jelaskan peran dan tanggung jawab kamu di organisasi. Khusus untuk
kamu yang minim pengalaman kerja, kamu harus memanfaatkan bagian ini untuk menonjolkan
kemampuan personal dan profesionalmu! Urutkan dari yang terbaru ke yang paling lama.

 PROJECTS AND PUBLICATION

Bagian ini berguna untuk menonjolkan pencapaian akademik seperti proyek, riset, dan publikasi
yang sudah kamu lakukan. Ini adalah nilai plus yang signifikan untuk CV-mu. Khusus untuk kamu
yang melanjutkan studi ke jenjang S3, reviewer atau calon pembimbingmu akan melihat
kemampuan akademik dan spesialisasimu dari sini!
 AWARDS
Jika kamu memiliki penghargaan dalam kompetisi, beasiswa, workshop, kamu harus
mencantumkan dalam CV-mu, terutama penghargaan yang berhubungan dengan bidang yang
kamu tekuni! Urutkan dari yang terbaru ke yang paling lama.

 LANGUAGE
Tuliskan daftar bahasa yang kamu kuasai beserta level kemahiranmu.
